You should only practice tantric mantras taught by a living guru following the tradition associated with the mantra that you are seeking to get initiated into. There are many Vedic mantras that can be recited by watching a video or reading a book or listening from a priest etc. This does not apply to the tantric side and in most cases absolutely nothing happens when one undertakes a self-initiation. Even for a self-initiation, there are certain norms and conditions and in my own best judgment, I would suggest getting a mantra from a traditional guru. There are many on the internet and social media. You can do some research and find a suitable guru, if there are none in your vicinity.

As i read what you wrote: this thought came in: Would my child come back and love me and respect me? Would he think I abandoned my child if i am not able to care for him? should i give away this expectation too...am i selfish to try and stand on my own feet and work on my karma and myself? how do i let go off the thought that my ex took him away from me so far off? sorry just needed to write this...

Perhaps you will tell the truth after all? Sincere people who are truly developing spiritually have no pride, and they have to be ready that at any moment everything they knew can be shattered in the face of true knowledge. They must always be ready to accept a new, more complete, perfect knowledge, and sometimes forget everything they knew before and considered knowledge. The concepts that the brain builds will not stand up to true knowledge, from a person who has achieved unity with his or her higher self. You don't have to think what people's egos will think, sometimes they can just break, at first such a person will feel devastated, angry, but then they will be very grateful to you for opening their eyes to the true state of affairs, for breaking down the barriers that prevented them from developing spiritually and moving on, for not being afraid to tell the truth, despite the fact that most people like lies or a mixture of truth and a little ignorance. Remember that dead fish swim with the river, and only live fish swim against the current. Thank you for your response, and I apologize if I was rude.

Namaste. In ashtang yoga, meditation is the 7th stage out of 8 stages. Proficiency in the first 6 stages is extremely important before moving on to the 7th stage.

Namaste Bhan. Don't worry, we're all in the same boat and we won't let go of anyone's hand. Of all the names of God, compassion is the greatest: seeing all beings as part of your own soul. Divine Mother will not let go of anyone's hand. No matter where the child goes or how much he curses the mother, the mother knows the child must return eventually. Where will he go? The mother can afford to wait for the child and forgive him when he returns.
