No, māyā does not make us to do good or bad. It is basically the karma, working through one's mind, makes us to do good or bad. Māyā only causes illusion. You can read this series. This series deals only with this subject. http://manblunder.com/articlesview/spiritual-realization---part-1

Brahman is pure. He wants to create. In order to do that, He enters through His power māyā and in the process he becomes covered with the veil of māyā and becomes a soul. Self becomes self. Self is pure and self is covered by māyā. He is known at this point as jīvātman and when jīvātman goes down further during the process of creation, all the tattvas come into existence ultimately ending with earth. Reversal of this process is liberation.

This is my first post. I myself cannot make a comparison between this post and posts of Brahma Sutra. This article is like a Pre KG and possibly Brahma Sutra articles are of slightly higher standard. But Brahma Sutra has 555 aphorisms. It discusses everything with regard to Self-realization.

Ravi, I have read some parts of Brahma Sutra posts and have come back here for some answers - about the beginning of “self realization”.

As you have rightly said, let us not comment on others. But one thing is for sure. According to me, no money should be taken for initiation. With regard to Shambavi vudya, I have heard only about Shambavi mudra, which is practiced with the eye balls.
