Pañcapūja is nothing but offering five upacāra-s such as sandal, flowers, dhūpam, dīpaṁ, water, sarvopacāram (all kinds of upacāra-s). This is to be followed as per Karanyāsa as per karanyāsa.

Having been a seeker since childhood I always beat myself up for not being ritualistic. It was that extreme discomfort of having God outside of me that prevented me from this path. I then believed that in order to deepen Self Knowledge ritual would be necessary. Thank you again for the clarification.

Changes within always means changes happening in the mind. One will lose all his interests in worldly acitivities, he will have no desires and wants, except for his living such as food and shelter. His mind will be pervaded by the Self (Brahman) and as a result, he will remain in the state of perpetual Bliss. He will neither experience pain nor pleasure.  His entire consciousness will be on Brahman and Brahman alone. That is why, he is called jivanmukta.
