Guruji, should 19 not be from NW to SE instead of NE to SW?

Guruji, My husband's father expired on 14 dec, 2018. He had performed the shraddha ritual as per Brahmin tradition. As my son's upanayan and registration/griha pravesh to our new house requires to be done this year, as after this it could be done after 2 years, so is there any way he can perform batsarik ( annual ritual) before 1 year of death and come out of Kaal Asouch. We are Bengali Brahmins.

Thank you very much, Krishna-ji. 1. You are very right. I think I still haven't been able to figure out how to 'digest' (so to speak) the progress I am making with divine grace, and falling back 2 steps each time. Arjuna symbolically represented the mankind when he cried "chanchalam hi manah Krishna" , and yet Krishna's reply about "practice" (abhyaasa) easily eludes. One of the greatest modern Sanskrit scholars - Sri Bannaje Govindacharya says "twacha yecharati kunjaraha" (hope I am quoting it right) - meaning, an elephant immediately after bathing in river pours mud on its body. So, even when divine wipes bad karma phala, mind traps with more sanchita karma, and hence getting trapped with fear and searching too many things. I will stay focused on the blessed initiations I have received. 2. Thanks for the clarification. I feel that Lord Nrusimha is more forgiving than Mother Pratyangira, in that, after taking her name, if we are not true to ourselves and fall prey to the daily happenings and insult someone, or even if just bad words come out of mouth, Mother teaches a lesson immediately! No doubt in that. Once again, respectful pranams to both of you. Thank you very much, Jayanth-ji. Sorry for the delay in responding. For some reason my ID kept failing.

There are two inner fires, which are called yajna fire. First one is jaṭharāgni. the digestive fire and the second one is the Kundalini fire. Let us take jaṭharāgni. Not only food that we eat are offered as oblations to jaṭharāgni, but also mind, intellect and ego are also offered as oblations. Unless these are burned by offering as oblations, Brahman cannot be realized as these would continue to be impediments for Realization.

There is also a stotram by the name "Svayamvara Pārvati Mantramālā Stotram". This is usually recommended for women but maybe used if desired for all genders. There is no initiation required and it comes under the class of vedic mantras. As Jayanth ji has explained, it could be related to certain dośa-s or defects in your horoscope and could be karmic. Some of these are unchangeable despite best efforts. But that should not deter you from trying your best through mantra chanting. Mantras are more powerful than stotras in general, but stotras recited as mantras or mantra mālā-s are equally effective.

In (a), the Sankrit letter om̐ surrounds the mātṛka-s such as am̐, ṣam̐ etc. In (b) the mātṛka-s surround om̐. This has been explained in the start of each section.
