She is known as Dakṣiṇa Kālī. In other words, Her name is Dakṣiṇa Kālī. But in mantra, She is adored as Dakṣiṇe Kālike due to chandas, etc. In japa you should say only Dakṣiṇe Kālike.

So in the original mantra दक्षिणे has to be substituted for दक्षिण.

I know there is a curse removal mantra, but I am not able to get hold of this mantra now. In case I get this, I will post it here. Mantras cannot be explained. It it only the bija-s that work. At the most it can be explained that dakṣiṇa Kālī is encased (sampuṭīkaraṇa) between these bija-s. Any mantra that is encased will be powerful, as the potency of the mantra will remain with the practitioner. It is known as sampuṭīkaraṇa in Sanskrit, which means 'furnished with a lid'.

This is the Dakṣiṇa Kālī mantra. Though there are other versions, this is commonly practiced mantra ॐ क्रीं क्रीं क्रीं हूं हूं ह्रीं ह्रीं दक्षिण कालिके क्रीं क्रीं क्रीं हूं हूं ह्रीं ह्रीं स्वाहा॥ om krīṁ krīṁ krīṁ hūṁ hūṁ hrīṁ hrīṁ dakṣiṇa kālike krīṁ krīṁ krīṁ hūṁ hūṁ hrīṁ hrīṁ svāhā ||

It is not mentioned in the Scripture. To my knowledge this rule is not applicable to mother-in-law, as gotra (lineage) is different.

Here in this case it is the death of the mother-in-law. Even in this case the same rule apply?
