The middle word in "hamsa:" "M" represents the point where ham and saha meet and merge with one another. Visiting Triveni sangamam one would have notived the ganga which is white and yamuna which is blue merge with each other and finally ganga absorbs the yamuna. This point of mergence is called "saraswathi" Omniscience - knowledge of Shiva sakthi. I have found that doing maha shodanyasa helps one to get this essence of mergence and even this mergence is lost into mergence and there is no mergence awareness too. May God bless us all. sir...i feel very hard to visualise that breath moving towards ajna chakra during exhalation . is it due to my in experience ? if it was inhalation , i would be much easier imagining yhe breath moving to forehed but how to imagine it during exhalation ? And 1 more doubt...does the breathing during this time need to be forcefull or very deep and slow ?

Initially one may find it difficult to chant the full mantra during one inhalation and one exhalation. But it is also important to hold breath within. Thus, if we attempt to chant the entire mantra, we could be gasping for breath after exhalation. Therefore, it depends on one's capacity. Mantra can be split, for example 3 lines for inhalation, etc.

But should we follow the prescribed practice of chanting each line with inhalation and exhalation or which is better
