Meaning of Dhyāna Verse:
Devi Mātaṅgī is seated on a throne in bejeweled temple situated on the central island of sea of liquor (spiritual liquor). I meditate upon Devi Mātaṅgī, who is bedecked with ornaments of Ruby, who is smiling, whose luster is lime a blue lotus, who is clad in blue garments, whose lotus feet are coloured with red lac juice, who has three brilliant eyes, who is engrossed in playing vīṇā (a stringed musical instrument), who is adored by gods, whose complexion is blue like the wings of a parrot, whose head is decked with crescent moon and whose mouth is filled with betel.

It is Mahākālasaṁhitā and not as mentioned previously. It is in the form of conversation between Mahākāla and Devi and fairly a lengthy one.

Dear Sir, I cannot thank you enough for your articles. I have a question and I hope you can help me. I am planning to do purascharana of Sri Matangi mantra Aim Namah Ucchishta Chandali Mathangi Sarvajana Vashankari Swaha Would you kindly tell me how many repetitions are prescribed for purascharana of this mantra? Also if I do japa in multiple sessions during the day, is nyasa required for every sitting? Thank you very much for your time.

I think it is 100,000 repetitions for performing purascharana. In all the sessions you have to do nyasa, when you are doing mantra japa for purascharana.

Namaste! These mantras are not available in any texts that I am aware of. However, if it suits you, you may use the ones specified from Devi Rahasyam for a different mantra, but applicable to the Divine Mother Śrī Mātaṅgi. Utkīlana mantra - ॐ ह्रीं ऐं श्रीं नमो भगवति उच्छिष्टचाण्डालि श्री मातङ्गेश्वरि सर्वजनवशंकरि स्वाहा ह्रीँ । om hrīṁ aiṁ śrīṁ namo bhagavati ucchiṣṭacāṇḍāli śrī mātaṅgeśvari sarvajanavaśaṁkari svāhā hrīṁ । hrīṁ hrīṁ hrīṁ om hrīṁ aiṁ śrīṁ namo bhagavati ucchiṣṭacāṇḍāli śrī mātaṅgeśvari sarvajanavaśaṁkari svāhā । Śāpavimocana mantra - ॐ ह्रीँ मातङ्गि कालशापं विमोचय फट् स्वाहा । om̐ hrīm̐ mātaṅgi kālaśāpaṃ vimocaya phaṭ svāhā ।

Krishnaji, I think the letter चा in the word उच्छिष्ट चा ण्डालि should be उच्छिष्ट च ण्डालि in the main mantra. Please correct me if I'm mistaken.
