You can use a Rudrākṣa māla of any number of beads and faces for wearing purposes. The benefits and the process of energizing the beads is described in the Rudrākṣa category on this website - https://manblunder.com/articles/rudrakshatearsofrudra. For mantra japa purposes, the japamālā mantra is different as described in various mantra articles on this website and elsewhere. However, for wearing purposes, the mantras for energizing them are different. We should not be using the same māla(s) for both wearing and mantra japa. Keep them separate. You can get a 108 + 1 Rudrākṣa māla and perform mantra japa with it. Once the mantra japa is complete, you should place it back in a māla bag and store in a dry and secure place. For wearing purposes, if a 6 face (mukhi) bead suits you the most, you may purchase 1 bead or a set of beads per your liking of any origin (Nepal or Indonesian or Papua or Australian or Hawaaian/American or Indian Rudrākṣa or Bhadrākṣa) etc. and wear it after energizing with the Purāṇic or the Tantric mantras that work best for you. In my case, I have an Indonesian 1-14 sarva siddhi māla that I energized with the tantric mantras and gave a couple of mālas to friends and family and also wear one myself. From an effects standpoint, it is too early to say, but I have had some peace of mind and resolution of some long standing issues in the last 2-3 weeks. It has only been 3 weeks since I energized the mālas. For me the 7 and 8, as well as the 14 face Rudrākṣas have been very effective and I witnessed some amount of auspiciousness and relief from worries. The 1 mukhi caused a lot of hindrances.

It is best to meditate upon the nāmas and their meaning. You can take up one or a set of attributes and contemplate on their meanings. The next day you can choose another set and so on. This will lead to a better understanding and appreciation of the Sahasranāmas vs. a recitation of the entire stotram, which in itself is a mālā mantra and requires an initiation and has pre-requisites.

Respected Guruji, Pranam. I am grateful for your guidance and support. May I request you to kindly guide to energize a rudraksha mala and with which mantra. I understand that the mala shall be 108+1 beeds and panchmukhi. Best Regards

For mantra japa, it should be 108 + 1. For wearing purposes, you can use the current māla. Before wearing it, I would recommend energizing it with the prescribed mantras.

Namaste Krisna, I have just bought a 5-mukhi mala. It’s very well done but it has only 107 beads, plus the meru bead will total 108. For the purpose of wearing, is there any bad effects? The reason I didn’t want to send back because it will take several days, and also the vendor may not accept return for this reason because they advertised as 108 beads and they delivered just that.

Namaste. What advice do You have for people who want to chant Nabhi Vidya mantras? Can You explain the meaning of mantras and what is Nabhi Vidya? Thank you.

Anthony, thank you, very nice. 1. Hmm...and how many times a day, purashharana and so on? 2. Does this practice "work" under Guhananda Mandali Shriguru only? Or it is unconditional?

Dear Suryaji, my pranaams to you! Thank you for you comment. But, I have to confess, this is beyond my understanding. I am still at a very low level and just starting out in Tantra. Can you please explain it in a more elaborate & simpler way so that I can understand it better? I do not know the difference between Shri Kula & Kali Kula. Can you explain it further? Can you also please explain this further: Lakṣmī is Ṣoḍaśī, and that this Ṣoḍaśī is Hādi Vidyā, and that this Hādi Vidyā is Kālī, and that Kālī is Kādi Vidyā , and that this Mother is hidden (Guhya), but it is not known where she came from? Can you also direct me to where this was revealed, which comment: (Jothi revealed where this Guhya came from)? Thank you so much for your time & effort. May the Divine Mother bless you!

Many thanks for this practical approach. Finally I found a way to deal with evils, harmful forces without fear and without provoking my anger. What a surprise!
