The mantra when created are created with a specific process and observing rules of the mantra shastra, we should not be changing it according to our liking.

Sir, how does aligning a mantra with the breath help? Which helps the person, the mantra or the breath? If we say mantra, it is made of certain beejaksharas, whose sound has special vibrations and power. But if we mentally recite the beejaksharas, does their power remain the same? Does aligning the breath with some abcdefghijkl or some numbers 12345678 give the same result as any mantra? Because, we have so many mantras and inhaling and exhaling any of them is the same. Then why so many mantras? There is a chandas for every mantra. So, do we need to recite the mantra according to the rythm of the chandas?
