नमः + शिवाय namaḥ + śivāya - this is the combination of two words. When they are joined together to form of a single word, 'a' of 'ha' goes away leading to 'namahshivaaya' instead of "namahashivaaya'. If you are able to do all these by strong mental visualization, these pujas are not necessary. Krishna says in Bhagavad Gita that it is enough to offer Him a leaf, one flower and a little water. It is the Bhakti that matters and not the rituals.

Sir then why it is pronounced as only namah when it comes to 'om namah shivay'? What makes this difference? And 1 more query....regarding mantra siddhi , is it necessary that one should worship the deity with peedapooja ,yantra pooja, ayudhapooja, etc or can one perform a simple pooja and start the mantra japa avoiding the complicated rituals? I dont know any peedapooja and yantra pooja so am i eligible to perform a purascharan?

नमः namaḥ should be pronounced as namaha. Your query on chanda is not clear to me.
