Last rites should be done by the first son. Second wife's son need not do last rites, as the deceased eldest son has done it. Last rites can be done only once and there is no need for repetition. At the most, son born to the second wife can do annual rites (shrardha) separately.

Respected sir, In case a person dies is it sufficient the last rites performed by the first wife's son who is also the eldest. Is it necessary that second wife's son who is younger also to repeat the rituals. Both the families are separated for more than thirty years and the the man died was living with first wife and so the younger son did not attend the funeral ceremony. What the younger son born to second wife has to do now.

You said spirituality is your hobby, which cannot be so. Secondly please stop doing sampuṭīkaraṇa of mantras. You should never do this without consulting your Guru. Each mantra has its own power and when you do sampuṭīkaraṇa with another mantra. the effect of both the mantras would be lost. Further, stick on to one mantra, which will surely help you.

Mental chanting is always more powerful than oral chanting. But, in general this applies only to mantra japas. Saundaryalahari comprises of hymns and hence it is better to chant it aloud; only then you can enjoy the beauty of the verse.

Is mentally chanting soundarya lahari verses really more powerful than chanting them out loud? Does it have a greater effect?

There is no bar for chanting navagraha mantras after sunset.

Hi, I have a doubt. Is it ok to chant navagraha stotras after sunset. Or atleast a few like shani, rahu, ketu or budh? Please advise.

Of course , with such verses there would be no restrictions on when or which days to chant , but may be it would be ideal to chant Lalita Rudra Trishati when Pradosh falls on a friday .

You can use bilva patra (bilva leaves) to do archana. If this is not available, you can use any flowers.
