Sri Pratyangira Devi Ashtottara Shatanamavali (श्री प्रत्यंगिरा देवी अश्तोत्तारा शतनामावली)
PROLOGUE:
The aṣṭottara śatanāmāvali (108 names) of Śrī Pratyaṅgirā is a treatise in itself, containing the very essence of the Śrī Pratyaṅgirā sahasranāma. All the benefits that can be accrued through reciting the sahasranāma, may also accrue through the aṣṭottara śatanāmāvali, if we can also meditate upon the meanings of each nāma while reciting them.
Śrī Pratyaṅgirā is the fieriest and fearsome aspect of Śrī Kālikā. She is mainly invoked to get rid of enemies, both internal and external, who may be causing extensive damage to us and cannot be overcome by normal means and when all other efforts for reconciliation have failed. She is considered the One who reverses the bad effects of all black magic, no matter how powerful they may be. All the obstacles, problems (whether monetary, relationships, physical, mental) are within us in the forms of negative thoughts, negative thought patterns and ideas. These are called Karmas and they are either in our chakras, subtle bodies, nāḍis etc. When we say Śrī Pratyaṅgirā Devi get rids of enemies, she eliminates/dispels these negative thoughts that are within us causing these troubles and not the enemy.
Another reason for invoking Her, would be to get rid of chronic diseases. If all other efforts of medication have been exhausted, one can seek Her grace to help with the cure. Her grace could help the body to respond better to the medication and sometimes getting the proper physician to diagnose and cure the ailments.
She in Her aspect as Siddha Lakṣmī, helps in relieving all financial problems and also showers Her abundance.
Reciting the 108 names with full faith, will help in the early resolution of all issues, invoking the grace of Śrī Mātā, in Her most aggressive and formidable aspect as Śrī Pratyaṅgirā.

Thank you indeed for sharing this form of worshipping of our mother goddes. Is there any special timing or Muhurta for reciting? I'd like to worship Maa pratyiagira during the wanning moon, What do you recomend me, just reciting is ok? Anybody can chant it? as a wicca follower we worship three aspects of mother goddess (the creator, the preserver or nourisher and the destroyer) I'd like to worship Pratyangira as the distroyer. I hope you share Bala and Lalitha Kavacham and Bala sahasranama soon, I heard that Bala sahasranama is a really beautiful and tender rendition.

It is best to worship Her after dinner and when the night sets in. Invoking Her will full faith and devotion will help in destroying all the karmas and internal tussles within us. Her Homam / fire ritual is considered best and most powerful, when performed on a new moon day. We will publish the Bala and Lalita Kavachams as well as Bala Sahasranama soon.

Can I worship Pratyangira along with Bala? In my view there's no problem since both are the same (our mother goddes), but some people claim that some specific goddesses shouldn't be worshipped along with others as they get angry. what do you think?

The considered opinion among some schools is that, an equal number of Bala mantras should be recited, when one performs Shri Pratyangira japa. The reason given is the Bala calms down the excess heat and energy that is generated by the ferocious Pratyangira. Both Shri Pratyangira and Shri Bala are the forms of the divine mother, but their energy levels are different. It is not necessary to recite the Bala mantras, but you may do so, if you wish to. It is definitely recommended for those facing adverse effects from the Shri Pratyangira japa.

I have not seen this anywhere yet. The āvaraṇa (covering) deities of Her yantra, constitute the khaḍgamālā. If there is enough interest, we can consider publishing Her yantra and the related pūja.

All the sources that I have, relate only to the Sahasranāma. There is no nāmāvali for it. Scholars well versed with the formulas of splitting the Sahasranāma, might be able to help us. Hopefully, this will happen in the near future and we can then use the same. In the meantime, please recite the entire Sahasranāma stotram as is.

Divine Mother Prathyangira Devi is also known as Bakshini....it means she swallows all the negativities associated with the sadhaka...whether it is negative thoughts, negative karmas or negative energies due to which diseases have ocurred....my suggestion is please worship the Divine Mother sincerely with devotion and faith, healing is natural by-product, while Enlightenment will be the Actual Outcome.

Hello, Can anyone tell me more about the Ashtamukha (or even the 12 mukha) of Gandabherunda Narasimha and Pratyangira Devi? There is very little information on the Internet about these deities and the powers they possess. Is there any stotram or mantra that can be chanted to Ashtamukha Gandabherunda Narasimha and Pratyangira Devi for the common good to honor these deities? Does anyone know where to find out about Hamsa Kali? Stotras, Mantras? Thank you if you share the information with me. Happy Navaratri everyone!

Śrī Aṣṭamukha Gaṇḍa Bheruṇḍa Nṛsiṃha consisting of 8 heads of Lord Nṛsiṃha, is a very aggressive form of the Lord and is rarely worshipped by sādhakas. Each face has a mantra of its own and there are a few mantras for the combined form too. In my considered opinion, it is best to avoid this form of Lord Nṛsiṃha and worship Śrī Lakṣmī Nṛsiṃha instead for both wealth and protection, as well as for self-realization and liberation.

Thank you for your response. I want to ask, Hanuman has a form with 5th and 11th faces, but they are widely known among devotees of Rama, Hanuman or just religious hindus, there is not so much mystery and reservations around these forms of God in worshiping them (as in worshiping Narasimha). But why is it that the form of Narasimha with 8 faces is so little known to the general public and the kavachas or mantras are almost impossible to find. Could it be that Hanuman with 11 faces and Narasimha with 8 faces are equal in power, but the Almighty Himself when He took such forms conceived it so that one could be widely worshipped by His devotees, and the other form (Narasimha with 8 faces) remained secret and was known to a very small number of people? Thank you for your answer.

As I have said previously, this form of Lord Nṛsiṃha is very rarely worshipped and is exclusive to certain categories of Vaiṣṇava sādhakas. Vaiṣṇava mantras in general are not easy to obtain and they follow very strict lineage rules and everything is shrouded in great secrecy. In general, it is best to avoid extremely powerful mantras unless actively guided by a learned guru.

I cannot recollect the source but will include it in the article when I am able to trace it. You can definitely follow the content from Bhaktinidhi or any other reputed site like Sanskritdocuments.org, stotranidhi etc. When in doubt whether to follow the content from Manblunder or any other site, I would suggest you follow the other sites. I would give least preference to the articles bearing my signature. I am not an expert in tantra by any yardstick. I am simply an enthusiast and a fellow sādhaka like you. One last advice which is essential in tantra - the guidance of the guru is supreme in all matters related to tantra.

The most beautiful and secret name of Pratyaṅgirā is "śrīvidyā-prema-rūpiṇī." She is in the form of the love and affection of Śrī Vidyā. How so? Everything in this universe can be controlled, except the wrath of a Mother protecting her innocent child in danger. It is the greatest expression of affection and love for the child. She does not want the innocent child to get hurt.

Namaste Tīvra Ji, If possible, please reply to my previous comment. ''Can You please tell us about the nature of Divine Mother Durga? If the full form of Durga is Guhyakali, which should be approached only with a Guru, then why is Durga worshipped by so many people, many of them without a Guru, without harming themselves? They approach Her through Bhakti and in Matri-Bhava. Does this mean that by worshiping Divine Mother Durga, partly all these people worship Guhyakali and she accepts their worship done with love? If the devotion to Durga is genuine, will the Divine Mother send a Guru to such people to teach them how to worship her full form or perhaps Supramental Yoga? Can You tell us more about Divine Mother Durga, there is a lot of superficial information on the Internet, and You have reached such a level in spiritual practice that You can ask this directly from the Divine Mother. Please lift the veil of secrecy about the nature of Divine Mother Durga.'' I will be very grateful for Your answer.
