Sharing a most beautiful visualization of Ganapati from Arthur Avalon’s rendering of the tantric text Sharada Tilaka. (8th century work authored by Sri Lakshmana Desikendra). Verses 31-38 say that he is to be meditated upon as seated on a lotus consisting of the letters of the Sanskrit alphabet ( Matrikambuja ). The Sadhaka should meditate upon an island composed of nine gems, placed in an ocean of sugar- cane juice ; a soft gentle breeze blows over the island and makes the waves wash the shore thereof. The place is a forest of Mandara, Parijata and other Kalpa trees and creepers, and the light from the gems thereon casts a red glow on the ground. The six gladdening seasons are always there. The sun and the moon brighten up the place. In the middle of the island is a Parijata tree whereon are the nine gems and beneath it is the great Pitha ( altar ) on which is the lotus whereon is seated Mahaganapati. His face is that of the great elephant with the moon on it. He is red and has three eyes. He is held in loving embrace by his beloved who is seated in his lap and has a lotus in her hand. In each of his ten hands he is holding a pomegranate, a mace, a bow, a trident, a discus, a lotus, a noose, a red water-lily, a sheaf of paddy and his own tusk. He is holding a jewelled jar in his trunk. By the flapping of his ears, he is driving away the bees attracted to his temples by the fluid exuding therefrom, and he is scattering gems from out of the jar held in his trunk. He is wearing a ruby-studded crown and is adorned with gems.

It is best to recite the kavacas related to the specific deities for which you have received an initiation. I would not recommend this kavacam for you.

It was gleaned from a manuscript that was shared with me. I don't own the manuscript nor can I say with complete certainty about its authenticity. Some of these secret scriptures are not published openly or even shared with others, for us to be able to authenticate their sources. You should be aware that all the information we see in books, attributed to tantras, are from manuscripts in private collections or in possessions of various organizations entrusted with their preservation. If for any reason you find this or any other information to be false or not authentic enough, I would strongly urge you to avoid the recitation or use of the same. As is customary in tantra, all of these stotras and mantras should ONLY be obtained from one's own guru and NEVER sourced from books or other sources. What we have provided here is only for informational purposes and is subjective to change, as and when we find any errors in the transcoding of these documents or in their interpretations.

Śaktism has its origins in Kashmir Śaivism and therefore the Uḍḍiyāna pīṭha being the Swat valley of Kashmir, is the most plausible and widely accepted notion. Kanchi also comes under one of the 64 pīṭhas and is very sacred to the worship of the Divine Mother Lalita Devi.

There can be more than one curse on these high yielding mantras, to prevent their misuse. This particular one has the full mantra + sauḥ + second half of the mantra. Please examine closely.
