We have discussed this in this article and in the comments. It is most common to find variations in stotras, mantras etc amongst the various traditions that span the subcontinent. You may follow what is initiated in your tradition and if you have not been initiated into this stotram or the associated mantra, then simply follow any of the books that you listed. The choice is yours. For the practice of the mantra, we strongly recommend that you seek an initiation from any suitable guru of your choice and proceed vs a self-initiation.

Suitability checks for major mantras may not be needed, if the guru finds the sādhaka to be competent for the worship of the deity through the specified mantra. The specific rituals mentioned here may not be necessary if the mantra fruitions by your sincere efforts and the guidance of your guru. In case this does not happen after the puraścaraṇa is completed, then you may consider following through with these rituals and begin your puraścaraṇa once again. It is best to not have any specific wishes for fulfillment and instead, rely on the wisdom of the deity to grant what is most suitable for us.

Namasthe Guruji, I was initiated into the Mahaganapati Moolamantra (with 5 beejas) and my name starts with Arun. Is the mantra suitable for me? And I havent done these 10 rituals, only started japa with Guru's permission (I do panchopachara, shadanga and karasudhi) Is that ok? Do I need to perform these rituals to attain fructification? Please guide me. Namasthe

Can this vidya be used to gain knowledge while one is sleeping? It is said that the great mathematician Ramanujam had siddhi of vidya lakshmi and swapna lakshmi. Swapna Lakshmi devi revealed many unknown secrets of mathematics to him in dreams and also transmitted the contents of mathematical books (such as the Principia Mathematica of Newton) to his mind while he slept. Could Swapna Varahi also help to accomplish such purposes?
