I quote something derived from the Iliad by Homer... "Can I tell you a secret, something they don't teach you in your temple? The Gods envy us because we are mortal; because any moment might be our last. Everything is more beautiful because we are doomed". Besides curiosity, is not the fear of being reborn the sole reason behind spiritual quests? What else besides these can be the reason that should motivate us?

Awakening of kundalini by oneself without proper guidance under a guru, without taking initiation from an adept can cause a lot of problem. When the energy is released it will pass through Chakras, and if the any of the chakra is blocked it can try to force its way out through it and may not go in the upper direction as desired. This can fuse the chakra and cause damage to the related organs. If the physical body, and other related bodies are not purified , The flooding of consciousness can take place, but when the energy recedes it would leave behind a vast trail of devastation. What I am writing is not my knowledge or experience but was told to me by my Guru. He was explaining the need of purifying the physical, vital, mental sheaths. Another myth about Kundalini is that it will rise in full force. But most of us can tolerate only a small part of the energy to rise .Do not think we have many persons who can bear the full blossoming of the energy. And another thing that many do not know that Kundalini is awake in all of us in a very small measure thats why we are alive!

It was kind of you to give credit where none is deserved for I did NO "in depth" study. I know no scriptures and have never prayed except when in peril. I am not much good at Scientific things either, just the basics that modern schooling teaches everybody. You are a far more evolved person then me and I found what you wrote to be very comprehensive, logical and thought provoking. That's what encouraged me to pose these questions in the (selfish) hope of clearing up my own mind. You know how modern humans look forward to "quick fix" answers without working hard to achieve them. Questioning comes easily to anyone and everyone who has had a little bit of education. Finding answers is the harder part which just a few like you aim for. Attaining bliss is not really on my agenda, becoming a better person possibly is (though the mind is easily tempted to sinnning and I think I've done more of it then I am entitled to). Yet, that's the humble endeavour which prompts these random outbursts. On the plus side - such discussions do serve the limited purpose of helping us improve a bit and devote some time to matters other then those pertaining to daily survival. Regardless of the outcome, I think it does help us become a more aware and a better thinking individual. A humble step closer to the ultimate realisation some of us aspire for. I continue to look forward to your wise words much like a student who has a questioning but open mind.

Thankyou for taking up the cause and for your effort in trying to explain the mundane questions which often bog down common people like me.Though I read your words quite regularly, I regret being unable to give you a feedback in as quick a timeframe. Its partly because of the daily grind and partly owing to the fact that it takes time to digest the contents in a manner that does justice to the tremendous effort you put in.

Very interesting blog. This goes right along with a book I'm reading called "Decoding The Spiritual Messages of Everyday Life" by Dr. Paul DeBell. He combines spirituality with key concepts from modern psychology to help us overcome challenges and become more perceptive, creative, and fulfilled. Dr. DeBell draws on such rational tools as cognitive-behavioral and Piaget developmental psychology to detect and decode feedback from the deeper dimensions in life.
