This is only for Śrī Devī Māhātmiya Pārāyaṇa and not for Śrī Caṇḍi Navākṣarī Mantra.

One's rebirth is purely based on one's karma. However, desires at the time of death influences the nature of rebirth. Beyond this clarification, nothing can be explained, as these things are beyond our perception. Time of death, karma and rebirth are not in our hands.

As per the tantra sastra Dasa Mahavidyas are to be practiced in left path (vamachara) methodology. In fact, no right path methodology was promulgated by tantra sastras. It is believed that a vigorous practice of vamachara will lead a sadhaka to the state of self consciousness where no external worship exists. A sadhaka has to practice this antaryaga (i.e. selft identity with para sakti) without showing any duality in all aspects of his/her life. To attain this stage of self realization our sastras have promulgated fourfold stages, purusharthas, Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha.Dharma: An aspirant sadhaka has to search for his guru with full devotion towards his guru with an urge for realization. The guru will test the aspirant and if satisfied, he will accept him as his disciple. It is the responsibility of the sadhaka to do guru susrusha, and follow ashrama dharmas (rules and regulations).Artha: Based on such disciplined and devotional behavior by the disciple, guru will start teaching him sadhana procedures. These sadhana procedures will involve some ferocious (?) acts like smasana sadhana, corpse sadhana, pancha makara sadhana etc. People who see these things from ‘outside’ will get negative thoughts/feelings on such sadhana practices. Some people may disturb mentally also. This is the reason why these sadhanas will be practiced secretively but not because of egocentric nature of guru-s. A guru who is egocentric cannot be called as a guru. Here, I would like quote one example of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa’s sadhana. As we all knew it, Sri RK Paramahamsa used to do his tantric practices in a smasana called panchavati during night time secretly. Once one of his follower (I think his relative, I did not remember his name) came to panchavati in search of Sri RKji, Sri RK warned him that ‘dear don’t come here. Forces around here may harm you’. These types of problems will be there while practicing tantric sadhana-s. Kama: Kama here means desire to attain darshan of para sakti and get liberation. As you know, Srimata prevail as kundalini in muladhara and Siva present at Sahasrara. A sadhaka has to take this kundalini to sahasrara which is known as Siva-Sakti union. This is conjugation. Moksha: After vigorous practice of above trivarga, the sadhaka will get to a state where no external practices are required. Then he starts experiencing presence of devotional power in him/her. He identifies himself with parasakti. This is nothing but Advaita bhava.During above process of sadhana, a sadhaka has to face so many tests in different modes. He will be moved upward once he succeeded in such tests. All purusarthas except dharma can be attained by following samayachara. Dharma which is related to guru as explained above is necessary for all types of achara-s.
