Not all practice spirituality to attain liberation; Some practice it for the peace of mind; for many, it is a means of wish fulfillment through divine grace. The goals are many. To the majority, attaining Moksha is a far fetched goal, rooted in Avidya that they are. Again, in my view, The mechanics behind birth, death and transmigration are not really necessary for somebody on the path to Moksha - it is mere academics. They should only know what liberation consists of, which is going beyond the cycle of birth, death and rebirth and abiding in that one infinite consciousness (or "Siva" as some prefer to call it) that pervades everywhere. The means is Spiritual Sadhana. Once you reach there (liberation), you will know everything. I allude this to the aspirations of cinema stars of this "great" country to become Chief Ministers. What they know about ruling a state? Are they mandated to do a course? yet, once they are in, they learn. Their goal was Chief Mininstership - learned persons like you and me would have done great research before taking up such positions, not them. Many of them don't have even a proper schooling. It's their ambition that made them what they are. You don't have to know the mechanics, you just have to "begin with the end in mind" as Stephen Covey says. You objective of clarifying the entire process flow may introduce errors as the description of mechanics vary from scripture to scripture. why confuse a spiritual aspirant? that was my objective when I commented on one of your previous article.

You have explained very well. Next part on this series begins with puryaṣṭaka and connection between our existence, transmigration and liberation. I am trying to interpret puryaṣṭaka both from gross and subtle points of view. Thank you for your wonderful participation and we look forward to your continued participation.

Thanks for taking your time in replying me. What I wanted to say that the subtle body (puryashtaka) never dies during the death of the adhiboudhika body, the body comprised of elements. It carries on till one gets liberation. it takes one body after another according to its karma and desires. This has been emphasized in Yoga Vasishta, the supreme scripture. That's why there is a continuation of Karma as well as remembrance of previous births. Karma being separated in the form of "karmic bag" and assigned to another subtle body is unwarranted (according to your writing). There are have been many occasions in the scriptures where people who have done the appropriate yoga obtain the vision of all their previous births, one example being yoga Vasishta. There is an absolute continuation of subtle body and in no stage it is destroyed, as when this is destroyed, the "I" sense gets nullified. The puryashtaka gets created when the cosmic consciousness reflects on itself and it gets destroyed the moment the "I", which is the cause of the creation of Puryashtaka, is realized as non-existent and just an imagination.
