Pitṛstuti (पितृस्तुति) – An ode to ancetors and departed souls
Prologue –
Pitṛ Stuti is a set of thirty-six verses, which serve as a eulogy to the departed ancestors. The verses themselves are referenced in the Śrī Garuḍa Purāṇa and narrated by Sage Prajāpati Ruci, for the welfare of mankind. These verses can be recited in memory of all our departed family, friends and all loved ones with whom we have shared a bond in this and previous lifetimes. Reciting this at least once during the Mahālaya Pitṛpakṣa is extremely auspicious.
