In the present world, these superhuman powers are not possible at all. Sage Patanjali explains these types of siddhis in his Yoga Sutra (III.38). He says, "These are obstacles to samādhi, but they are powers in their worldly life. Shy should one go to śakti pīṭha-s when all these pīṭha-s are there in our body. I can only feel sorry for you and I will certainly pray for your well being.Search the Lord within you. You do not need anyone to show Him within yourself.

Here comes the difference between a Guru and a guru. A Self-realized Guru will not even think in those lines. If he has even traces of these qualities, one has to stay away from him. However, there are possibilities for a Self-realized person to fall down from his highest level. The moment they think about the qualities that you have mentioned, they begin to accrue karmas.

Some Gurus are abusing people sexually and taking all their properties and money. These Gurus say that they are Self-Realized and are not bound to Karma and can do anything!!!Can a self-realized soul do these things?

1. Shankara and Ramana are realized persons and the messengers of God. Adi shankara is said to be an incarnation of Shiva. They had the twin task of making people to follow religious path and also aspire for liberation. The same Shankara interpreted Upanishads explaining that Brahman has no form and told us to seek Him within. One's spiritual journey can begin only with visits to temples, performing rituals, etc and this is what I have mentioned in this article. This fact has been repeatedly emphasized through out this site. Ego, etc will be discussed in the next part. 2. Rituals are surely an impediment to realization. Once perfection is attained in rituals, one is automatically taken to the next stage. The mind will tell him, shun rituals and move forward. One may look small in front of a person who is involved in rituals. This is because of lack of faith in what we follow. When one wants seek Brahman, he has to seek Him with complete faith, come what may. We have to forget about what people think about us. The connection between Brahman and the one who seeks Him is very secretive like the sacred marital relationship. 3. The whole universe is pervaded by soul, both living and insentient. Living beings including plants grow faster due to their association with Prakrti. If we say that insentient beings do not have soul, God's omnipresence becomes questionable. Insentient beings also grow because of the soul. but their association with Prakrti is very limited. 4. The most difficult aspect is surrendering to God. Most of us do not how to make the surrender. This is not the easy path, but this is the only path. I will write about this in my future articles. Thanks for raising these questions.

1. One question, we all believes "Adi Shankara" and Ramana Maharishi are great saints and rishis who realized Brahman. But they never avoided the idol worship or visiting the temples. I think still we need God to keep avoid our "I/Ego" by surrendering to God. 2. When people talking about self realization,Brahman , will this create ego in mind against people who following rituals.3. Only living beings have soul? 4. Will that be easy by achieving realization by surrendering to god, so that we can avoid the ego ? will this be easy path for self realization.

1. Yes. You are right2. Brahman is universe in layman's language and others term it as Prakṛti.3. This is due to group karma. This has not been discussed much. I have written about in this site, several times. Why many people should die during tsunami? Cause is group karma. Scientifically we call this as DNA and others call this as hereditary. Everything depends purely on the "Law of Karma".4. Karma begins to operate immediately after birth and continues to operate throughout the present life. It is a continuous process.I think I am able to answer all your doubts. In the process, not only you and I learn, but other who happen to read this also are benefited. Our ultimate aim is that everyone should have adequate spiritual knowledge to attain liberation. I will continue to write on Advaita philosophy. This posting is only preliminary.
