It can be explained thus. Tripura means three worlds, which refers to all triads. For example, knowledge, knower and the known is a triad, there are three guṇa-s, Icchā, jñāna and kriyā śakti-s, etc. When all these triads are burnt, one enters into the state of Bliss, Ānanda. Ānanda is Parāśakti. When Shiva decides to liberate a person, He annihilates all the triads in him and thereby making him to be one with Parāśakti. That person is now in the state of Bliss. When a person is handed over to Her by Shiva like this, She further purified him by Her Grace and compassion and imparts knowledge about Shiva. You are right in saying internalizing Maha Shakti. In fact, Maha Shakti is already present in him and He only makes to realize that Maha Shakti within. His soul is ready to be liberated. These two articles explain how a soul is liberated, though in a gross way. Journey to Sri Chakra 18 Journey to Sri Chakra 19

There is one story that Rudra shiva destoys three cities of Taraksh, Kamalaksh and vidyunmali. So What are these three cities stand for? are they three gunas in prakriti? If so what does it mean by destroying them? Does it mean internalizing the maha shakti? Thank you

Prakṛti is Nature, the original or primary substance and vikṛti is modifications. Mostly these terms are used in Ayurveda. Prakṛti is the basic constitution of a human body throughout his life. Vikṛti is the constitution of the body at a given moment. If Prakṛti is the primary mode in which first creation happens, vikṛti then means further growth. Both are feminine energies.

What is the difference between Prakriti and Vikriti? Are they both female energies?
