Raviji, Please make corrections: Under Rshyadi nyasah: Should be "sāṁbaparameśvara" (missing final -a) Please, what is meaning of "darśana bhāṣaṇa" here? Under Dhyanam: Should be "paraśum abhayadaṁ" (not apayadaṁ) Should be "sāṅkuśaṁ" (not aṅguśaṁ) Under Samarpanam: Should be "guhya" (not huhya) Thank you!

Difference is due to the ṛṣi-s who conceived these mantras. Various traditions follow their own set of mantras, passed on by their respective guru mandala-s.

It is generally said one can follow Sri Vidya provided his or her karma permits. You can self-initiate, provided you are thorough with the mantra and its procedures.

You may recite the Sarasvati Gāyatri mantra.

‘svāhā’ (स्वाहा) – signifies offerings or oblations to the deity through the mantra. Please follow the mantra obtained from a guru. All variations of this mantra would be equally effective, in my opinion.

Dear Ravi Guruji, a very venerated tantric did a prashna for me and recommended I do the sodashi mantra on Fridays to overcome obstacles. I started on Bala and Varahi mantras last year, but nowhere close to finishing the prescribed purascharana. Is it possible that I am picking up the srividhya practice from a previous birth? Could I self initiate using the procedures you have provided? I look forward to your kind guidance on this. Thanks
