- Rājarājeśvara balidānam (राजराजेश्वर बलिदानम्) -
We offer our sacrificial offerings to Lord Rājarājeśvara, a form of Lord Śiva, to bestow bountiful wealth to us.

ॐ ह्रौँ राजराजेश्वरबलिपात्राधारमण्डलाय नमः ।
[Establish the maṇḍalā for offering the sacrifices to the Yoginis.]

[In the very center of the Maṇḍala, the bali pātra (plate) must be placed on the pedestal and worshipped with flowers, incense and rice grains.]

May the eternal bliss granting Lord Rājarājeśvara, remove all obstacles in our material and spiritual path and fulfill all our wishes and endear everything and everyone to us. May the Lord be immensely pleased with our offerings and His grace be upon us at all times!
Prārthanā (प्रार्थना) - [prayer]
he candracūḍa madancntaka śūlapāṇe ।
sthāṇe girīśa girijeśa maheśa śambho ॥ 1 ॥
bhūteśa bhītabhayasūdana māmanāthaṃ ।
saṃsāra duḥkha gahanājjagadīśa rakṣa ॥ 2 ॥
हे चन्द्रचूड मदनान्तक शूलपाणे ।
स्थाणे गिरीश गिरिजेश महेश शम्भो ॥ १ ॥
भूतेश भीतभयसूदन मामनाथं ।
संसार दुःख गहनाज्जगदीश रक्ष ॥ २ ॥
O Divine Lord, the One who bears a crescent moon on His hair locks, the destroyer of cupid (Kāmadeva), the bearer of the trident representing the triads of the Creation, you are the Lord of all and the Supreme being – Maheśa, the grantor of complete happiness – Śambhu, the spouse of Girijā, the resolute One! You are the Static Super-consciousness - Sthāṇu and the Lord of the great mountains Girīśa. You are the lord of all the bhūtas, the extra dimensional entities and are also the remover of all fear originating from these entities and all other sources. You are our Protector and Lord and we revere you at all times! O Lord, the remover of all misery and sorrow that occur in our lives, please forgive us and relieve us of all bad karmas and dissolve all our sins. You are the Lord of the entire Creation and most difficult to comprehend, please shower your grace upon us and protect us at all times!
he pārvatī hṛdayavallabha candramaule ।
bhūtādhipa pramathanātha girīśajāpa ॥ 3 ॥
he vāmadeva bhavarudra pinākapāṇe ।
saṃsāra duḥkha gahanājjagadīśa rakṣa ॥ 4 ॥
हे पार्वती हृदयवल्लभ चन्द्रमौले ।
भूताधिप प्रमथनाथ गिरीशजाप ॥ ३ ॥
हे वामदेव भवरुद्र पिनाकपाणे ।
संसार दुःख गहनाज्जगदीश रक्ष ॥ ४ ॥
O Divine Lord, you are hailed as the moon bearer Candramauli, the One who resides in the heart of the Divine Mother Pārvatī and is the Lord of all the extra-dimensional bhūtās and other tormentors. You are the unmoved Static Super-consciousness and the Lord of the great mountains. You are the Lord of the dwarfs and the renderer of auspiciousness as well as the Destroyer of the Creation. You are the bearer of the great trident representing all the manifested triads and are their ruler. We bow to you O Lord, the remover of all misery and sorrow that occur in our lives, please forgive us and relieve us of all bad karmas and dissolve all our sins. You are the Lord of the entire Creation and most difficult to comprehend, please shower your grace upon us and protect us at all times!
he nīlakaṇṭha vṛṣabhadhvaja pañcavaktra ।
lokeśa śeṣavalaya pramatheśa śarva ॥ 5 ॥
he dhūrjaṭe paśupate girijāpate māṃ ।
saṃsāra duḥkha gahanājjagadīśa rakṣa ॥ 6 ॥
हे नीलकण्ठ वृषभध्वज पञ्चवक्त्र ।
लोकेश शेषवलय प्रमथेश शर्व ॥ ५ ॥
हे धूर्जटे पशुपते गिरिजापते मां ।
संसार दुःख गहनाज्जगदीश रक्ष ॥ ६ ॥
O Dear Lord, you are hailed as Nīlakaṇṭha, the blue-throated One holding the great poison that could deluge and contaminate the entire Creation. You are the most sacred Vṛṣabhadhvaja, the bull emblemed One. You are five-headed representing the aspects of Creation, Preservation, Destruction, Annihilation and Resurrection. You are Lokeśa, the Lord of all worlds! You are Śeṣavalaya, the One adorned with a serpent over the head, relating to the Highest levels of super-consciousness. You are Pramatheśa, the Lord of the evil and misery causing gaṇas (ghosts, spirits, goblins etc.). You are the punishing Lord Śarva, who does not spare the evil doers. You are the matted haired Dhūrjaṭa, who has stacked up the highest knowledge of the Parabrahman over the head. You are the Lord Paśupati, whose leash (pāśa) captures the sentient beings deluded by māyā as paśus. You are Girijāpati, the spouse of the Divine Mother Girijā, the One whose unstinted devotion is compared to the immovable and humungous mountains! We bow to you O Lord, the remover of all misery and sorrow that occur in our lives, please forgive us and relieve us of all bad karmas and dissolve all our sins. You are the Lord of the entire Creation and most difficult to comprehend, please shower your grace upon us and protect us at all times!
Puṣpāṅjaliḥ (पुष्पाङ्जलिः) - [Showering flowers upon the bali plate]
gaurī-vilāsa bhuvanāya maheśvarāya ।
pañcānanāya śaraṇāgata-rakṣakāya ॥ 1 ॥
śarvāya sarva-jagatām-adhipāya tasmai ।
dāridrya duḥkha dahanāya namaḥ śivāya ॥ 2 ॥
गौरीविलास भुवनाय महेश्वराय ।
पञ्चाननाय शरणागतरक्षकाय ॥ १ ॥
शर्वाय सर्वजगतामधिपाय तस्मै ।
दारिद्र्य दुःख दहनाय नमः शिवाय ॥ २ ॥
O Lord Maheśvarā, the Lord of the entire Creation and the One who pervades the entire Creation along with your consort, the Divine Mother Gaurī. You are the One with five heads and the rescuer of all your devotees and seekers! You are the punisher of the wrong-doers and the Lord of everything and everyone! Please shower your grace upon us and relieve us of all financial misery, health issues and all sorts of misery. Please burn our bad karma and enlighten us! Salutations to you from our heart!
bhakti-priyāya bhaya-roga-bhayāpahāya ।
ugrāya durga-bhava-sāgara-tāraṇāya ॥ 3 ॥
jyotirmayāya guṇabhavasunṛtyakāya ।
dāridya duḥkha dahanāya namaḥ śivāya ॥ 4 ॥
भक्तिप्रियाय भयरोगभयापहाय ।
उग्राय दुर्गभवसागरतारणाय ॥ ३ ॥
ज्योतिर्मयाय गुणभवसुनृत्यकाय ।
दारिद्य दुःख दहनाय नमः शिवाय ॥ ४ ॥
O Lord, you are adored by all your devotees and are the remover of all worries associated with health, disease or any other miserable conditions. You are terrific in appearance and help us in navigating through all hurdles of life! You are the One who illumines the path of liberation and are well known by your cosmic dance that sets the universe in its mode of operation and life and matter to exist as well as, for all the subtleties of existence to thrive. Please shower your grace upon us and relieve us of all financial misery, health issues and all sorts of misery. Please burn our bad karma and enlighten us! Salutations to you from our heart!
rāma-priyāya raghunātha-vara-pradāya ।
nāga-priyāya narakārṇava-tāraṇāya ॥ 5 ॥
puṇyeṣu puṇyabharitāya surārcitāya ।
dāridrya duḥkha dahanāya namaḥ śivāya ॥ 6 ॥
रामप्रियाय रघुनाथवरप्रदाय ।
नागप्रियाय नरकार्णवतारणाय ॥ ५ ॥
पुण्येषु पुण्यभरिताय सुरार्चिताय ।

O Lord, you are the favorite of Lord Rāma and the grantor of all wishes to Him and His clan! You are the favorite of all serpent Nāgas and their ilk. You are the Protector of all, including those destined to hell! You are sinless and are pure consciousness alone! You are the grantor of all good karma, virtue, piety and auspiciousness. You are the most adored and worshipped by the celestials Suras. Please shower your grace upon us and relieve us of all financial misery, health issues and all sorts of misery. Bali samarpanam (बलि समर्पनम्) - [Dedicating the bali offerings]

- Kāla balidānam (काल बलिदानम्) -
We offer our sacrificial offerings to Lord Kāla (Yama dharmarāja), the Lord of justice, death and ruler of the Naraka (hell) realm, to appease and seek His permanent grace upon us and our loved ones for long, meaningful and just life filled with happiness, prosperity and achievements.

ehyehi daṇḍāyudha dharmarāja kālāñjanābhāsa-viśāla-netra ।
viśāla-vakṣaḥsthala-rudrarūpa gṛhāṇa pūjāṃ bhagavan-namaste ॥ 1 ॥
एह्येहि दण्डायुध धर्मराज कालाञ्जनाभासविशालनेत्र ।
विशालवक्षःस्थलरुद्ररूप गृहाण पूजां भगवन्नमस्ते ॥ १ ॥
O Lord Kāla, hailed as Lord Yama Dharmarāja, holding a staff indicating disciplinary action to ensure justice, adorned with beautiful eyes anointed with black pigments on the eyelashes and brows and appearing with a wide and well built chest, sporting an aggressive and punishing demeanor. O Lord kindly accept our offerings and please be pleased with our pūjā. Please bestow your protection and complete grace upon us and our dear ones.
Puṣpāṅjaliḥ (पुष्पाङ्जलिः) – [Showering flowers upon the bali plate]
kālāya kālarūpāya kālāñjana-sama-prabho ।
dakṣiṇasyāṃ kṛtāvāsaṃ kāladeva namo'stu te ॥ 1 ॥
कालाय कालरूपाय कालाञ्जनसमप्रभो ।
दक्षिणस्यां कृतावासं कालदेव नमोऽस्तु ते ॥ १ ॥
O Lord Kāla deva, you have a dark complexion with beautiful dark eyes, dark penciled eyebrows and lashes. You rule and reside in the Southern direction. Salutations to you and may your grace be upon us at all times!
yamo nihantāpitṛdharmarājo vaivasvato daṇḍadharaśca kālaḥ ।
pretādhipo dattakṛpānusārī kṛtānanta etad-daśabhir-japanti ॥ 2 ॥
यमो निहन्तापितृधर्मराजो वैवस्वतो दण्डधरश्च कालः ।
प्रेताधिपो दत्तकृपानुसारी कृतानन्त एतद्दशभिर्जपन्ति ॥ २ ॥
O Lord, you are known as Yama the punisher, Nihantā the life taker, Pitṛ the One who has taken our deceased ancestors, Dharmarāja the enforcer of justice, Vaivasvata the ruler of the Southern direction, Daṇḍadhara the holder of the divine staff, Kāla the ruler of time, Pretādhipa the Lord of all spirits, Dattakṛpānusārī the One who has obtained the complete grace of Lord Dattatreya, Kṛtānanta the One who brings death. O Lord we praise you with these ten attributes to obtain your complete grace.
dharmarāja mahābāho dakṣiṇādhi-pataye namaḥ ।
raktekṣaṇa mahābāho mama pīḍāṃ nivāraya ॥ 3 ॥
धर्मराज महाबाहो दक्षिणाधिपतये नमः ।
रक्तेक्षण महाबाहो मम पीडां निवारय ॥ ३ ॥
O Lord, your long arms render justice to everyone in the entire Creation! You are the ruler of the Southern direction. Please rush and hold us in your long arms and rescue us from all misery and misfortune immediately.
Bali samarpanam (बलि समर्पनम्) - [Dedicating the bali offerings]
anena balidānena śrīkālaḥ prīyatāṃ na mama ।
अनेन बलिदानेन श्रीकालः प्रीयतां न मम ।
[We offer these humble items to please the Divine Lord and obtain His everlasting blessings.]
- Mṛtyu balidānam ( मृत्यु बलिदानम् ) -
We offer our sacrificial offerings to appease Lord Mṛtyu, perceived as Lord Rudra Himself in the form of Lord Yama, to undertake the task of freeing up the soul/ātma from the physical body, through the process of death. The offerings are for seeking the blessings of the Divine Lord to protect us from untimely death and also to seek His blessings for a peaceful passing, when the time is upon us.

ॐ मृत्योर्बलिपात्राधारमण्डलाय नमः ।

अनन्त संसार महासमुद्रे मग्नं समं विग्रह अन्तरूप ।
अन्तविरूपे विनियोगकारी मृत्युस्वरूपाय नमो नमस्ते ॥ १ ॥
O Divine Lord Mṛtyu, you are the rescuer of all those who are completely deluged in the ocean of the life-death cycle and totally engrossed and trapped in their livelihood - saṃsāra. You are the One who can put an end to all the misery and hardship and release us from the firm grip of Māya as Lord Antavirūpa, with your variegated forms. You are the Viniyogakārī, who is worshipped to fulfill our wishes and desires. Please accept our sincere and heartfelt salutations as Lord Mṛtyu-svarūpāya, death itself!
Puṣpāṅjaliḥ (पुष्पाङ्जलिः) - [Showering flowers upon the bali plate]
mṛtyave mṛtyu-rūpāya antāñjana-samaprabho ।
dakṣiṇasyāṃ kṛtāvāsaṃ mṛtyudeva namo'stu te ॥ 1 ॥
मृत्यवे मृत्युरूपाय अन्ताञ्जनसमप्रभो ।
दक्षिणस्यां कृतावासं मृत्युदेव नमोऽस्तु ते ॥ १ ॥
O Lord Mṛtyu and Mṛtyu-rūpāya! You are death itself and resemble pitch darkness devoid of any light. You reside in the Southern direction. O Lord Mṛtyudeva, we salute you and pray to you reverently to prevent any untimely death and rescue us from all types of hazards and difficulties.
Bali samarpanam ( बलि समर्पनम् ) - [Dedicating the bali offerings]
anena balidānena śrīmṛtyuḥ prīyatāṃ na mama ।
अनेन बलिदानेन श्रीमृत्युः प्रीयतां न मम ।
[We offer these humble items to please the Divine Lord and obtain His everlasting blessings.]
- Dikpālakabalidānam (दिक्पालकबलिदानम्) -
We offer our sacrificial offerings to all the Cardinal Lords – the Dikpālakas, from Lord Indra to Lord Ananta covering all the ten directions. These offerings are made outside the house or at least outside the area where the pūja has been offered.
Offerings are made in the East for Lord Indra, Lord Agni in South-East, Lord Yama in South, Goddess Nirṛti in South-West, Lord Varuṇa in the West, Lord Vāyu in the North-West, Lord Soma in the North, Lord Īśāna in the North-East, Lord Brahma in the upper direction and Lord Ananta in the Downward direction.
airāvata-samārūḍho vajrahaste mahābalaḥ ।
śata-yajñābhidho devastasmād-indrāya te namaḥ ॥
ऐरावतसमारूढो वज्रहस्ते महाबलः ।
शतयज्ञाभिधो देवस्तस्मादिन्द्राय ते नमः ॥
Salutations to Lord Indra, the Lord of all celestials, seated upon the celestial white elephant Airāvata and holding the thunder striking Vajra weapon. He is super strong and mighty! Praise be to the Lord, who has performed a hundred Aśva yajñā (śata-yajñā) – horse sacrifice rituals and has attained all types of powers.
om̐ yo me pūrvagataḥ pāpmāpāpakeneha karmaṇā indrastaṃ devarājo bhañjayatu khañjayatu mohayatu nāśayatu mārayatu balintasmai prayacchatu kṛtaṃ mama śivaṃ mama śāntiḥ svastyayanaṃ cāstu ।
ॐ यो मे पूर्वगतः पाप्मापापकेनेह कर्मणा इन्द्रस्तं देवराजो भञ्जयतु खञ्जयतु मोहयतु नाशयतु मारयतु बलिन्तस्मै प्रयच्छतु कृतं मम शिवं मम शान्तिः स्वस्त्ययनं चास्तु ।

We make our sacrificial offerings to Lord Agni, the Lord of illuminance, in the South-Eastern direction to remove all our sins and to attract, disable, consume and completely destroy all our miseries and misfortunes and illumine our lives with peace, auspiciousness, happiness and prosperity.
om̐ yo me dakṣiṇagataḥ pāpmāpāpakeneha karmaṇā yamastaṃ pretarājo bhañjayatu khañjayatu mohayatu nāśayatu mārayatu blaintasmai prayacchatu kṛtaṃ mama śivaṃ mama śāntiḥ svastyayanaṃ cāstu ।
ॐ यो मे दक्षिणगतः पाप्मापापकेनेह कर्मणा यमस्तं प्रेतराजो भञ्जयतु खञ्जयतु मोहयतु नाशयतु मारयतु ब्लैन्तस्मै प्रयच्छतु कृतं मम शिवं मम शान्तिः स्वस्त्ययनं चास्तु ।
We make our sacrificial offerings to Lord Yama, the Lord of justice and death, in the Southern direction to remove all our sins and to attract, disable, consume and completely destroy all our miseries and misfortunes and illumine our lives with peace, auspiciousness, happiness and prosperity.
om̐ yo me nairṛtyagataḥ pāpmāpāpakeneha karmaṇā nirṛtistaṃ rakṣarājo bhañjayatu khañjayatu mohayatu nāśayatu mārayatu balintasmai prayacchatu kṛtaṃ mama śivaṃ mama śāntiḥ svastyayanaṃ cāstu ।
ॐ यो मे नैरृत्यगतः पाप्मापापकेनेह कर्मणा निरृतिस्तं रक्षराजो भञ्जयतु खञ्जयतु मोहयतु नाशयतु मारयतु बलिन्तस्मै प्रयच्छतु कृतं मम शिवं मम शान्तिः स्वस्त्ययनं चास्तु ।
We make our sacrificial offerings to the Divine Mother Nirṛti, the Governess of misfortune and misery and also the protectress from the same, in the South-Western direction to remove all our sins and to attract, disable, consume and completely destroy all our miseries and misfortunes and illumine our lives with peace, auspiciousness, happiness and prosperity.
om̐ yo me paścimagataḥ pāpmāpāpakeneha karmaṇā varuṇastaṃ jalarājo bhañjayatu khañjayatu mohayatu nāśayatu mārayatu balintasmai prayacchatu kṛtaṃ mama śivaṃ mama śāntiḥ svastyayanaṃ cāstu ।
ॐ यो मे पश्चिमगतः पाप्मापापकेनेह कर्मणा वरुणस्तं जलराजो भञ्जयतु खञ्जयतु मोहयतु नाशयतु मारयतु बलिन्तस्मै प्रयच्छतु कृतं मम शिवं मम शान्तिः स्वस्त्ययनं चास्तु ।
We make our sacrificial offerings to the Divine Lord Varuṇa, the Lord of all water bodies, in the Western direction to remove all our sins and to attract, disable, consume and completely destroy all our miseries and misfortunes and illumine our lives with peace, auspiciousness, happiness and prosperity.
om̐ yo me vāyavyagataḥ pāpmāpāpakeneha karmaṇā vāyustaṃ prāṇarājo bhañjayatu khañjayatu mohayatu nāśayatu mārayatu balintasmai prayacchatu kṛtaṃ mama śivaṃ mama śāntiḥ svastyayanaṃ cāstu ।
ॐ यो मे वायव्यगतः पाप्मापापकेनेह कर्मणा वायुस्तं प्राणराजो भञ्जयतु खञ्जयतु मोहयतु नाशयतु मारयतु बलिन्तस्मै प्रयच्छतु कृतं मम शिवं मम शान्तिः स्वस्त्ययनं चास्तु ।
We make our sacrificial offerings to the Divine Lord Vāyu, the Lord of wind, in the North-Western direction to remove all our sins and to attract, disable, consume and completely destroy all our miseries and misfortunes and illumine our lives with peace, auspiciousness, happiness and prosperity.
om̐ yo me uttaragataḥ pāpmāpāpakeneha karmaṇā somastaṃ tārārājo bhañjayatu khañjayatu mohayatu
nāśayatu mārayatu balintasmai prayacchatu kṛtaṃ mama śivaṃ mama śāntiḥ svastyayanaṃ cāstu ।
ॐ यो मे उत्तरगतः पाप्मापापकेनेह कर्मणा सोमस्तं ताराराजो भञ्जयतु खञ्जयतु मोहयतु नाशयतु मारयतु बलिन्तस्मै प्रयच्छतु कृतं मम शिवं मम शान्तिः स्वस्त्ययनं चास्तु ।
We make our sacrificial offerings to the Divine Lord Soma, the Lord of the stars and the moon, in the Northern direction to remove all our sins and to attract, disable, consume and completely destroy all our miseries and misfortunes and illumine our lives with peace, auspiciousness, happiness and prosperity.
om̐ yo me īśānagataḥ pāpmāpāpakeneha karmaṇā īśānastaṃ gaṇarājo bhañjayatu khañjayatu mohayatu
nāśayatu mārayatu balintasmai prayacchatu kṛtaṃ mama śivaṃ mama śāntiḥ svastyayanaṃ cāstu ।
ॐ यो मे ईशानगतः पाप्मापापकेनेह कर्मणा ईशानस्तं गणराजो भञ्जयतु खञ्जयतु मोहयतु नाशयतु मारयतु बलिन्तस्मै प्रयच्छतु कृतं मम शिवं मम शान्तिः स्वस्त्ययनं चास्तु ।
We make our sacrificial offerings to the Divine Lord Īśā, the Lord of all beings, in the North-Eastern direction to remove all our sins and to attract, disable, consume and completely destroy all our miseries and misfortunes and illumine our lives with peace, auspiciousness, happiness and prosperity.
om̐ yo me ūrdhvagataḥ pāpmāpāpakeneha karmaṇā brahmāstaṃ prajārājo bhañjayatu khañjayatu mohayatu nāśayatu mārayatu balintasmai prayacchatu kṛtaṃ mama śivaṃ mama śāntiḥ svastyayanaṃ cāstu ।
ॐ यो मे ऊर्ध्वगतः पाप्मापापकेनेह कर्मणा ब्रह्मास्तं प्रजाराजो भञ्जयतु खञ्जयतु मोहयतु नाशयतु मारयतु बलिन्तस्मै प्रयच्छतु कृतं मम शिवं मम शान्तिः स्वस्त्ययनं चास्तु ।
We make our sacrificial offerings to the Divine Lord Brahma, the Creator, in the Upper direction to remove all our sins and to attract, disable, consume and completely destroy all our miseries and misfortunes and illumine our lives with peace, auspiciousness, happiness and prosperity.
om̐ yo me adhogataḥ pāpmāpāpakeneha karmaṇā anantastaṃ nāgarājo bhañjayatu khañjayatu mohayatu nāśayatu mārayatu balintasmai prayacchatu kṛtaṃ mama śivaṃ mama śāntiḥ svastyayanaṃ cāstu ।
ॐ यो मे अधोगतः पाप्मापापकेनेह कर्मणा अनन्तस्तं नागराजो भञ्जयतु खञ्जयतु मोहयतु नाशयतु मारयतु बलिन्तस्मै प्रयच्छतु कृतं मम शिवं मम शान्तिः स्वस्त्ययनं चास्तु ।
We make our sacrificial offerings to the Divine Lord Ananta, the Lord of all serpents and netherworldly beings, in the Downward direction to remove all our sins and to attract, disable, consume and completely destroy all our miseries and misfortunes and illumine our lives with peace, auspiciousness, happiness and prosperity.
Prārthanā (प्रार्थना) – [prayer]
indrāgni-yama-nirṛtiḥ varuṇa-vāyu-someśāḥ ।
brahmā ananta sahitāḥ prasīdantu mamopari ॥ 1 ॥
इन्द्राग्नियमनिरृतिः वरुणवायुसोमेशाः ।
ब्रह्मा अनन्त सहिताः प्रसीदन्तु ममोपरि ॥ १ ॥
May the Lords Indra, Yama, Nirṛti, Varuṇa, Vāyu, Soma, Brahma and Ananta be pleased with us and shower their complete grace upon us from all directions!
pāyaso balidānena santuṣṭaḥ sarvadā bhavet ।
teṣāṃ baliṃ prayacchāmi bhavantu prītiḥ sarvadā ॥ 2 ॥
पायसो बलिदानेन सन्तुष्टः सर्वदा भवेत् ।
तेषां बलिं प्रयच्छामि भवन्तु प्रीतिः सर्वदा ॥ २ ॥
May the Divine Lords be pleased with the sweet-rice pudding offered by us and offer their grace upon us at all times! We make our offerings to completely please the deities and obtain their grace upon us as well as their most effective protection at all times and at all places!
brahma-murāris-tripurāntakārī bhānuḥ śaśi bhūmisuto budhaśca ।
guruśca śukraḥ śani-rāhu-ketavaḥ sarve grahāḥ śāntikarā bhavantu ॥ 3 ॥
ब्रह्मामुरारिस्त्रिपुरान्तकारी भानुः शशि भूमिसुतो बुधश्च ।
गुरुश्च शुक्रः शनिराहुकेतवः सर्वे ग्रहाः शान्तिकरा भवन्तु ॥ ३ ॥
May we be blessed and protected at all times and under all circumstances, by the grace of the graha lords, Bhānu (Sun), Śaśi (moon), Bhūmisuta (the son of the Earth – Mars), Budha (Mercury), Guru (Jupiter), Śukra (Venus), Śani (Saturn), Rāhu (Dragon’s head) and Ketu (Dragon’s tail), as well as the Creator Brahma, Preserver Viṣṇu and the Destroyer Rudra. May they grant us peace, auspiciousness, success, wealth, health and immense prosperity by their divine grace!
Balidāna sampūrṇam (बलिदान सम्पूर्णम्) – [Dedicating the bali offerings]
anena balidānena daśādigpālāḥ priyantāṃ na mama ।
अनेन बलिदानेन दशादिग्पालाः प्रियन्तां न मम ।
[We offer these humble offerings to please the Divine Cardinal Lords, to obtain their everlasting blessings.]
- Bhūtādibalidānam (भूतादिबलिदानम्) -
We offer our sacrificial offerings to the Pañcabhūtas (natural elements) as well as all types of spirits, goblins and inter-dimensional beings to gain their blessings. The offerings MUST be made outside the house/area where the pūja has been performed and NEVER inside the housing premises.
om̐ sarvabhūta-vighnakṛta-balipātrādhāra-maṇḍalāya namaḥ ।
ॐ सर्वभूतविघ्नकृतबलिपात्राधारमण्डलाय नमः ।
[Establish the maṇḍalā for offering the sacrifices to the Pañcabhūtas, sprits and extra-dimensional beings outside the house.]
om̐ sarvabhūta-vighnakṛta-balipātrādhāra-maṇḍalāya namaḥ sarvopacārārthe gandhākṣata-puṣpāṇi samarpayāmi ।
ॐ सर्वभूतविघ्नकृतबलिपात्राधारमण्डलाय नमः सर्वोपचारार्थे गन्धाक्षतपुष्पाणि समर्पयामि ।
[In the North-Eastern corner or any other corner outside the house, the bali pātra (plate) must be placed on the pedestal and worshipped with flowers, incense and rice grains.]
om̐ sarva-bhūta-vighnakṛta-balipātrāya namaḥ ।
ॐ सर्वभूतविघ्नकृतबलिपात्राय नमः ।
[The bali pātra is deemed to be established.]
om̐ sarva-bhūta-vighnakṛta-balipātrāya namaḥ sarvopacārārthe gandhākṣata-puṣpāṇi samarpayāmi ।
ॐ सर्वभूतविघ्नकृतबलिपात्राय नमः सर्वोपचारार्थे गन्धाक्षतपुष्पाणि समर्पयामि ।
[Place the Offer incense, flowers, rice etc. on the bali plate using the left hand thumb and ring finger.]
om̐ sarva-bhūta-vighnakṛta-bali-dravyāya namaḥ ।
ॐ सर्वभूतविघ्नकृतबलिद्रव्याय नमः ।
[Sanctify the bali offerings with the above mantra.]
om̐ sarva-bhūta-vighnakṛta-bali-dravyāya namaḥ sarvopacārārthe gandhākṣata-puṣpāṇi samarpayāmi namaḥ ।
ॐ सर्वभूतविघ्नकृतबलिद्रव्याय नमः सर्वोपचारार्थे गन्धाक्षतपुष्पाणि समर्पयामि नमः ।
[The bali offerings are now worshipped and offered to the Pañcabhūtas, sprits and extra-dimensional beings, along with flowers, incense and rice grains.]
om̐ bhūr-bhuvaḥ svaḥ sarva-bhūta-vighnakṛd-bhyaḥ sarva-vighnān-nāśaya nāśaya sarvān kāmāṃśca pūraya pūraya varavarada sarvajanaṃ me vaśamānaya vaśamānaya sarvopacāra-sahita imāṃ pūjābaliṃ gṛhāṇa gṛhāṇa hum̐ phaṭ svāhā ।
ॐ भूर्भुवः स्वः सर्वभूतविघ्नकृद्भ्यः सर्वविघ्नान्नाशय नाशय सर्वान् कामांश्च पूरय पूरय वरवरद सर्वजनं मे वशमानय वशमानय सर्वोपचारसहित इमां पूजाबलिं गृहाण गृहाण हुँ फट् स्वाहा ।
O Pañcabhūtas, sprits and extra-dimensional beings all transient beings, please accept our humble offerings and remove all our obstacles and fulfill all our objectives and wishes. Please endear us to everyone and everything and help us prosper and succeed in all our endeavors! Please provide your grace and protection at all times to us and our dear ones!
Prārthanā (प्रार्थना) - [Prayer]
bhūtā ye ca vighnakartāro divi-bhūmy-antarikṣagāḥ ।
pātālastha saṃsthāśca śivayogena bhāvitā ॥ 1 ॥
भूता ये च विघ्नकर्तारो दिविभूम्यन्तरिक्षगाः ।
पातालस्थ संस्थाश्च शिवयोगेन भाविता ॥ १ ॥
May all the spirits, both good and evil of all forms transiting the heavens, earth and the netherworlds as well as all inner, higher, lower dimensions, be pleased and grant us success, victory and peace and remove all obstacles in our path.
krūrādyāḥ śata-saṃkhyakāḥ pākhaṇḍādyā vyavasthitāḥ ।
dhruvādyāḥ satya-saṃkhyāśca indrādyā-vyavasthitāḥ ॥ 2 ॥
क्रूराद्याः शतसंख्यकाः पाखण्डाद्या व्यवस्थिताः ।
ध्रुवाद्याः सत्यसंख्याश्च इन्द्राद्याव्यवस्थिताः ॥ २ ॥
All the billions of violent/krūra beings, the sinful atheistic and heretic pākhaṇḍās, the eternal asterisms and the celesials -
tṛpyantu prītimanaso bhūtā gṛhṇatvimaṃ balim ।
nagare vā'tha saṃgrāme aṭavyāṃ vai sarittaṭe ॥ 3 ॥
तृप्यन्तु प्रीतिमनसो भूता गृह्णत्विमं बलिम् ।
नगरे वाऽथ संग्रामे अटव्यां वै सरित्तटे ॥ ३ ॥
All those residing in war zones, cities and large populated areas or in isolated mountainous and desolate or less populated or those residing on islands and along the coasts of large water bodies and all others, be pleased and completely satisfied with our sacrificial offerings.
vāpī kūpeṣu vṛkṣeṣu śmaśāne ca catuṣpathe ।
nānārūpadharā ye ca bahurūpa-dharāśca ye ॥ 4 ॥
वापी कूपेषु वृक्षेषु श्मशाने च चतुष्पथे ।
नानारूपधरा ये च बहुरूपधराश्च ये ॥ ४ ॥
May those residing on water bodies, underground locations and basement dwellers, on large trees, cremation grounds, at junctions of many roads, those with many personalities or forms, be completely satisfied with our sacrificial offerings.
yatra tatra vicaranti bhūtapretādi sarvadā ।
te sarve caiva santuṣṭā baliṃ gṛhṇantu me sadā ॥ 5 ॥
यत्र तत्र विचरन्ति भूतप्रेतादि सर्वदा ।
ते सर्वे चैव सन्तुष्टा बलिं गृह्णन्तु मे सदा ॥ ५ ॥
May the restless spirits and all beings be completely satisfied with all our offerings at all times.
ye raudrā raudrakarmāṇo raudrasthāna-nivāsinaḥ ।
mātaro'pyu-graharūpāśca gaṇādhipatayaśca ye ॥ 6 ॥
ये रौद्रा रौद्रकर्माणो रौद्रस्थाननिवासिनः ।
मातरोऽप्युग्रहरूपाश्च गणाधिपतयश्च ये ॥ ६ ॥
May the extremely violent beings, those possessed with violent behavior and karma, those residing in troubled areas, the troublesome grahas of all types, those who embody the grahas in their behavior and cause immense misery and those served by many and all others be immensely pleased with our offerings.
bhūcarā khecarāścaiva tathā caivāntarakṣagā ।
te sarve prītamanasāḥ pratigṛhṇantvimaṃ balim ॥ 7 ॥
भूचरा खेचराश्चैव तथा चैवान्तरक्षगा ।
ते सर्वे प्रीतमनसाः प्रतिगृह्णन्त्विमं बलिम् ॥ ७ ॥
May those residing on Earth and those residing in the heavens and all other dimensional beings be immensely pleased with our offerings and grant their complete protection to us at all times.
Puṣpāṅjaliḥ (पुष्पाङ्जलिः) - [Showering flowers upon the bali plate]
bhūtāni yānīha vasanti bhūtale baliṃ gṛhitvā vidhivat prayuktam ।
santoṣamāsādya vrajantu sarve anyatravāsaṃ parikalpayantu ॥ 1 ॥
भूतानि यानीह वसन्ति भूतले बलिं गृहित्वा विधिवत् प्रयुक्तम् ।
सन्तोषमासाद्य व्रजन्तु सर्वे अन्यत्रवासं परिकल्पयन्तु ॥ १ ॥
May all the spirits and extra-dimensional entities be pleased with our offerings that have been presented in the prescribed manner. May they leave us and never trouble us or our loved ones and may they reside at another location (preferably at the place of our enemies).
Bali samarpanam (बलि समर्पनम्) - [Dedicating the bali offerings]
anena balidānena sarva-bhūta-vighnakṛdbhyaḥ sarva-bhūtebhyaḥ prīyatāṃ na mama ।
अनेन बलिदानेन सर्वभूतविघ्नकृद्भ्यः सर्वभूतेभ्यः प्रीयतां न मम ।
[We offer these humble items to please the obstacle causing bhūtas of all kinds and obtain their everlasting blessings.]
