Śrī Trayodaśākṣara Mahālakṣmī Mantra (श्री त्रयोदशाक्षर महालक्ष्मी मन्त्र) :-

(13 lettered Mahālakṣmī mantra)

Purpose:- Gaining unlimited material and spiritual wealth.

1.Viniyogaḥ (विनियोगः) :-

om̐ asya śrī trayodaśākṣara mahālakṣmī mantrasya ।

bhṛgu ṛṣiḥ

nivṛt chandaḥ

śrī devatā

śrīm̐ bījaṃ

śrī mahālakṣmī prītyarthe sarveṣṭa siddhaye jape viniyogaḥ

ॐ अस्य श्री त्रयोदशाक्षर महालक्ष्मी मन्त्रस्य ।

भृगु ऋषिः ।

निवृत् छन्दः ।

श्री देवता ।

श्रीँ बीजं ।

श्री महालक्ष्मी प्रीत्यर्थे सर्वेष्ट सिद्धये जपे विनियोगः ॥

Meaning:- This prayer/mantra japa is to invoke Śrī Mahālakṣmī Devi and perform Her mantra japa to obtain Her complete grace in all aspects and especially for removal of all hurdles afflicting our material and spiritual pursuits. The sage (ṛṣiḥ) is Brahma, the meter (chandas) for the mantra is Gāyatrī and the deity is Śrī Mahālakṣmī Devi, the seed/bīja mantra is śrīm̐. May She bestow immense wealth, both spiritual and material, upon us.

2. ṛṣyādi nyāsa ( ऋष्यादि न्यास ) :-

Touch the heart with the right palm.

श्रीँ बीजाय नमः गुह्ये

Touch the genetalia with the right ring finger and thumb joined together.

om̐ viniyogāya namaḥ sarvāṅge

ॐ विनियोगाय नमः सर्वाङ्गे

Run both the palms all over the body.

सौः कनिष्ठिकाभ्यां नमः

Use both the thumbs on the little fingers.

om̐ jagatprasūtyai namaḥ karatalakara pṛṣṭhābhyāṃ namaḥ

ॐ जगत्प्रसूत्यै नमः करतलकर पृष्ठाभ्यां नमः

Run the fingers of the right hand on the opened left palm on the front and back of the left hand and can be extented to the entire lower arm. Repeat the same for the right hand with the left hand fingers.

क्लीँ कवचाय हुँ

Cross both the hands and run the fully opened palms from shoulders to finger tips.

om̐ sauḥ netratrayāya vauṣaṭ

सौः नेत्रत्रयाय वौषट्

Touch the eyes with the right index and ring fingers, with the middle finger touching the ājña cakra.

6

om̐ jagatprasūtyai namaḥ astrāya phaṭ

ॐ जगत्प्रसूत्यै नमः अस्त्राय फट्

Open up the left palm and strike it three times with index and middle fingers of the right hand.

5. mantra varṇa nyāsaḥ (मन्त्रवर्ण न्यासः) :-

Place the right hand palm on the heart area and feel the mantra inside the bones of the body.

ॐ नँ नमः मज्जायाम्

Place the right hand palm on the heart area and feel the mantra inside the bone marrow of the body.

Place the right hand palm on the heart area and feel the mantra inside the sexual discharges of the body.

9. dhyānaṃ (ध्यानं) :-

balā'rka-dyutim-indu-khaṇḍa vilasat koṭira-hārojjvalām

ratnākalpa vibhūṣitāṃ kucanatāṃ śāleḥ karairmañjarīm

padmaṃ kaustubha ratnamapyavirataṃ saṃvibhratīṃ sasmitām

phullāmbhoja vilocana trayayutāṃ dhyāyet parāmambikām

बलाऽर्कद्युतिमिन्दुखण्ड विलसत् कोटिरहारोज्ज्वलाम् ।

रत्नाकल्प विभूषितां कुचनतां शालेः करैर्मञ्जरीम् ॥

पद्मं कौस्तुभ रत्नमप्यविरतं संविभ्रतीं सस्मिताम् ।

फुल्लाम्भोज विलोचन त्रययुतां ध्यायेत् परामम्बिकाम् ॥

Meaning:-

We meditate upon the Divine Mother Śrī Mahālakṣmī Devī, Who shines forth like a bright flash of lightning resembling the brilliant lustre of a diamond adorned on a forehead. She is decorated all over body with innumerable ornaments of precious stones. Her chest region resembles a garden full of clusters of blossoms. She has emerged with various celebrated jewels like the kaustubha and other precious stones from the ocean of consciousness, sitting on a lotus emaning a very high degree of intense energy. She is the Divine Mother and the manifested Superconsciousness Parabrahman, Who is beyond all triads and celestial devatas.

10. Pañcapūjā (पञ्चपूजा) :-

Hold the lower tip of the bottom phalange of the thumbs of both hands with the upper tip/nails of the index fingers, with the back of the hand facing us.

yam̐ - vāyvātmikāyai dhūpamāghrāpayāmi

 

यँ - वाय्वात्मिकायै धूपमाघ्रापयामि

 

Hold the lower tip of the bottom phalange of the index fingers of both hands with the upper tip of the thumbs, with the back of the hand facing us.

ram̐ - agnyātmikāyai dīpaṁ darśayāmi

 

रँ - अग्न्यात्मिकायै दीपं दर्शयामि

 

Hold the lower tip of the bottom phalange of the middle fingers of both hands with the upper tip of the thumbs, with the back of the hand facing us.

vam̐ - amṛtātmikāyai amṛtaṁ mahānaivedyaṁ nivedayāmi

 

वँ - अमृतात्मिकायै अमृतं महानैवेद्यं निवेदयामि

 

Hold the lower tip of the bottom phalange of the ring fingers of both hands with the upper tip of the thumbs, with the back of the hand facing us.

sam̐ - sarvātmikāyai sarvopacāra pūjām samarpayāmi

 

सँ - सर्वात्मिकायै सर्वोपचार पूजाम् समर्पयामि

 

Hold the fingers of each palm in a folded manner with the tips of each fingers of both hands touching each other and the thumbs facing the heart, in a Namaste position.

11. japamālā mantraṃ (जपमाला मन्त्रं) :-

Recite the below mantra once, to pray to the japa māla and invoke the blessings for a fruitful japa.

oṃ māṃ māle mahāmāye sarvamantra svarūpiṇi
caturvarga stvayinyasta stasmānye siddhidā bhava

ॐ मां माले महामाये सर्वमन्त्र स्वरूपिणि।
चतुर्वर्ग स्त्वयिन्यस्त स्तस्मान्ये सिद्धिदा भव॥

12. Guru Mantra (गुरु मन्त्र):-

Recite the following guru mantra once, to seek the blessings of all gurus and the Guru.

oṃ hrīṃ siddhaguro prasīda hrīṃ oṃ

ॐ ह्रीं सिद्धगुरो प्रसीद ह्रीं ॐ

13. Atha Śrī Trayodaśākṣara Mahālakṣmī Mantraḥ (अथ श्री त्रयोदशाक्षर महालक्ष्मी मन्त्रः) :

Recite the following mantra atleast 108 times, preferably on a lotus bead or rudrakṣa or turmeric māla.

om̐ aim̐ hrīm̐ śrīm̐ klīm̐ sauḥ jagatprasūtyai namaḥ

ॐ ऐँ ह्रीँ श्रीँ क्लीँ सौः जगत्प्रसूत्यै नमः ।

Meaning:-

The Śabda Brahman and Tārā bīja/seed mantra om̐ represents auspiciousness.

The Vāgbhāva bīja/seed mantra aim̐ represents all knowledge, material and spiritual, as well as wisdom leading towards self-realization and liberation.

The Mahāmāyā bīja/seed mantra hrīm̐ represents all the triads, such as Creation, Preservation and Destruction. It also signifies concentration, power, ambition and the drive to accomplish the desired results.

The Lakṣmī bīja/seed mantra śrīm̐ represents fertility, abundance and wealth, both material and spiritual.

The Kāma bīja/seed mantra klīm̐ represents desires and their fulfillment.

The Parā bīja/seed mantra sauḥ represents self-realization and liberation. It is the bestower of both.

This thirteen lettered mantra is a prayer to the Lotus dwelling Goddess Śrī Mahālakṣmī, the Divine Mother, Who’s the Creator of the entire multi-dimensional multi-verse, to shower Her mercy and become pleased with our devotion and bless us with auspiciousness, abundant material and spiritual wealth and also fulfill all our desires and finally liberate us from the cycle of life and death.

सँ - सर्वात्मिकायै सर्वोपचार पूजाम् समर्पयामि

 

Hold the fingers of each palm in a folded manner with the tips of each fingers of both hands touching each other and the thumbs facing the heart, in a Namaste position.

 

17. Samarpaṇam (समर्पणम्):-

Take water in uttaraṇi and by reciting the following śloka, offer the water to the earth.

guhyātiguhyagoptrī tvaṁ gṛhāṇāsmat-kṛtaṁ japam
siddhirbhavatu me devi tvatprasādānmayi sthirā

गुह्यातिगुह्यगोप्त्री त्वं गृहाणास्मात्कृतं जपम्।
सिद्धिर्भवतु मे देवि त्वत्प्रसादान्मयि स्तिरा॥

18. japānantaraṃ mālāmantraṃ (जपान्ततरं मालामन्त्रं) :-

Recite the below śloka and mantra, followed by placing the māla upon the top of the head and then place it back in the māla bag and conceal it. It should NOT be worn.

śloka oṃ tvaṃ māle sarvadevānāṃ prītidā śubhadā bhava

śubhaṃ kuruṣya me bhadre yaśo vīryaṃ ca dehime

श्लोक ॐ त्वं माले सर्वदेवानां प्रीतिदा शुभदा भव।

शुभं कुरुष्य मे भद्रे यशो वीर्यं च देहिमे॥
