Hello, can you use this Gayatri mantra. Om Ksheer Putray Vidhmahe Amrit Tatvay Dheemahi Tanno Somah: Prachodyat. And what's the difference between this one and what you posted? What is the meaning of oṣadhīśāya?

Yes, you can use the alternate Gāyatri mantra specified. The literal meaning of oṣadhīśāya is "chief medical healer/physician". Here, we should look at the mind aspect that is controlled by Lord Candra, in providing us complete relief from diseases as well as the peace of mind. This is especially applicable for those, who are suffering from various mental ailments.
