Ṣoḍaśopacārapūjā typically has many more processes added over time, which got adopted from other traditions or sāmpradāyās. Completing the entire pūjā with all the processes, is said to invoke the grace of the deity, as well as the permission, to proceed with mantra japa, if the devotee wishes to. The pūjā can be performed on all important occasions from time to time, to invoke the grace of the Lord.
Typically, the pūjā is performed externally using the materials listed below and the mantras and ślokas chanted loudly, for everyone in the room to hear. Those performing the pūjā by themselves, can do the same as well. For those, who prefer to chant mentally, the manas pūjā can be performed. That is, the entire pūjā can be done in the mind itself, imagining the offerings performed within the mind itself. No external actions are needed for a manas pūjā. Though experts mandate an external pūjā, it can also be performed mentally, especially for tantric deities like śrī ucchiṣṭa gaṇeśa.
The pūjā can take a couple of hours to complete, so plan accordingly. It is suggested to complete the entire pūjā in one sitting without any breaks. If any breaks are needed, the first three ācamana mantras should be repeated, before starting the next procedures, from where they were left off earlier.
Materials Needed:-
The following items need to be in place, before the pūjā begins. Substitutes are also okay, if the materials cannot be obtained.

ācamanam ( आचमनम् )
Take the glass of water and the spoon (uttarāni) with the left hand and pour some water into the right palm. Recite the following mantras while drinking the water in the palm. A spoonful of water must be poured into the right palm before reciting each mantra. This should be done for the first three mantras. For the rest, it can be poured into another vessel by showing to the deity’s idol and imagining it to be offered to the mouth of the deity. The first three are to purify one’s mouth before offering the rest to the deity. The vessel used, can be kept aside after the procedure and re-used for dispensing water, unbroken rice, flower petals etc, for the later procedures.

prāṇapratiṣṭhā ( प्राणप्रतिष्ठा )
To the idol of śrī ucchiṣṭa gaṇapati or any idol of śrī gaṇeśa, apply turmeric and kumkum or the red powder, a mix of dried turmeric with slaked lime. If no idol or photo is available or there’s no yantra either, then a betel leaf with a chunk of turmeric made into a small mound with water, could be used as a form or idol of śrī gaṇeśa. Take a betel leaf and a flower and touch the idol with this combination. The following mantras should now be recited for the prāṇapratiṣṭhā process.
mantra॥ tataḥ mūrtāvāhanaṃ kariṣye॥ asunīte punarasmāsu cakṣuḥ punaḥ prāṇa mihinodhehi

Udvāsanam ( उद्वासनम् )
This procedure is the final process that is for bidding goodbye to the deity and requesting the deity to head back home and continue to bless us. The power of the deity and the blessings are said to continue, even after the deity heads back home. The home here is simply symbolic, as Brahman is everywhere. After the recitation of the ślokas and mantras, the deity idol and yantra can be moved slightly. Typically, after a few hours, the area where the pūjā ritual was conducted, can be cleaned up.
yajñena yajñamiti udvāsanaṃ :- ( यज्ञेन यज्ञमिति उद्वासनं :- )
mantra॥ oṃ yajñe na yajña mayajaṃta devāḥ tāni dharmāṇi prathamā nyāsan॥

मन्त्र॥ श्री उच्छिष्ट गणपतये यथास्थानं प्रवेशयामि - शोभनार्थं पुनरागमनायच॥
This ends the śrī ucchiṣṭa gaṇeśa ṣoḍaśopacāra pūjā ritual. It is highly recommended that the devotee read both the śrī ucchiṣṭa gaṇeśa kavacaṃ and the śrī ucchiṣṭa gaṇeśa sahasranāmaṃ, to multiply the benefits that may accrue from the pūjā.
This Ucchiṣṭa Gaṇapati Ṣoḍaśopacārapūjā is scripted by Shri. Krishna Vallapareddy. Shri. I could not follow your question. We have provided the entire pūja of Śrī Ucchiṣṭa Gaṇapati in this article and if you are requesting the same for Lord Hanumān including His upāsana, then it would be posted in the years ahead. Nothing is planned at this time.

Namaskar sir, which kind of substitute would you recommend for betel nut and leaves? Should I just use any kind of nut and leaves? Also, can eg. paper flowers be used as a substitute for real flowers if the latter are difficult to get? Thank you
