He holds a blue lotus and is adorned with a crescent moon on His diadem and is Lord Śiva(Rudra) Himself. On His upper arms, He holds a book, a pot full of the Divine nectar and displays the pleasing wisdom granting jñāna mudrā and the liberation granting akṣa-mālā.
The blue lotus represents evolution of the consciousness and the realization of the unknown aspects of the mysterious Divine Self. The crescent moon represents the descent of the consciousness into the material realm. The book denotes all the knowledge that is known and unknown.
