We meditate upon on the Divine Mother Śrī Mahālakṣmī Devī, holding two eight-petaled lotuses in Her upper arms and appearing extremely pleasing and attractive. She is bedecked with innumerable precious ornaments all over Her body with dazzling anklets, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, waist ornaments and a huge attractive crown, adding to Her dazzling appearance. She is seated on a beautiful large lotus and is duly attended by Her aides and is surrounded by peacocks and singing birds in an extremely pleasing setting. She is prayed to by all celestials and the entire Creation for fulfilling all their wishes. She is the dispeller of all pain, sorrow, misery and any type of suffering in a speedy manner.

She Herself appears like a blooming lotus and holds two lotuses in two upper arms signifying the rising of consciousness. She holds a pot made of gold containing the seeds of Creation and all wealth that She bestows. She is served by two elephants showering the divine nectar upon Her, signifying the balance of the iḍa, suṣumṇa, piṅgala nāḍi-s and the release of the cerebral fluid from the top of the skull to the bottom cakras. She also protects the eight Vasu-s representing all the natural elements such as earth, air, ether, water and fire, as well as inner manifestations of mind, intellect and ego. The eight petaled lotuses signify both the material and spiritual aspects of the Vasus. She is also armed with a bow to pierce our cakras and speed up our spiritual journey. She holds a rope, a book and a mirror. The rope signifies Her pulling us in when we are lost in material pursuits, the book signifies knowledge and the mirror signifies Her presence in all beings and matter as the inner consciousness.

We take delight in serving the Divine Mother at all times. May She take notice of our devotion and bestow us with Her complete grace.
