Initiation Required.

Purpose – Abundant wealth, property, prosperity, authority, perfect health, higher education, luck, success in all endeavors and complete contentment in all aspects of life.

Prologue – Out of the various Śakti Pīṭhas present, Kāmākhyā dhām in Guwahati is considered the foremost. The Divine Mother is called Kāmākhyā in the North-Eastern region of India and is referred to as Śrī Kāmākṣī in the South. Both names are identical and represent Her infinite grace, pardon and love towards the entire Creation. She is Lalita Tripura Sundarī the enchanter of all the three realms and the cause of all triads.

There is absolutely nothing that cannot be manifested by Her grace. She always grants much more that what we can ever ask for and She is like none other and is unmatched in Her benevolence.

1. Saṅkalpaḥ (सङ्कल्पः) –

ācamya prāṇānāyamya deśakālausaṅkīrtya

śrīmān amuka gotraḥ

dharmapatnī sameto

haṃ mamātmanaḥ

sakuṭumbasya śrī kāmākṣī paradevatā prasannatā prāptipūrvaka śrī kāmākṣī devatā prasādena sarvopaśānti pūrvaka dīrghāyurvipula dhanaputra pautrādyanavaccinna santativṛddhi sthiralakṣmī kīrti lābha śatru parajayādi sadabhīṣṭa phalasiddhyartham śrī kāmākṣī mahamantra japam kariṣye

आचम्य प्राणानायम्य देशकालौसङ्कीर्त्य ।

श्रीमान् अमुक गोत्रः ।

अमुक नामधेयो ।

धर्मपत्नी समेतो ।

हं ममात्मनः ।

सकुटुम्बस्य श्री कामाक्षी परदेवता प्रसन्नता प्राप्तिपूर्वक श्री कामाक्षी देवता प्रसादेन सर्वोपशान्ति पूर्वक दीर्घायुर्विपुल धनपुत्र पौत्राद्यनवच्चिन्न सन्ततिवृद्धि स्थिरलक्ष्मी कीर्ति लाभ शत्रु परजयादि सदभीष्ट फलसिद्ध्यर्थम् श्री कामाक्षी महमन्त्र जपम् करिष्ये ॥

Meaning - This prayer/pledge is to undertake the mantra japa of the Divine Mother Śrī Kāmākṣī with my partner, following the rituals of Ācamana (sipping of water while reciting the associated mantras) and Prāṇāyāma (abdominal breathing) for obtaining Her complete grace in all aspects, including long life, relief from all types of malefic planetary influences (graha doṣas), relief from all types of miseries, diseases, unexpected and calamitous events, enemies, extreme losses, poverty, job or property loss. We pray for Her divine grace towards our family members and all close associates, protection of our assets, businesses, jobs, family etc as well as their prosperity, welfare and progress.

The word ‘amuka’ should be replaced with ones own specific ‘gotra’. Those who do not know their gotra, can use their gurus gotra and proceed.

2. Viniyogaḥ (विनियोगः) -

अस्यश्री कामाक्षी परदेवता महामन्त्रस्य ।

आनन्दभैरव ऋषिः ।

जगती छन्दः ।

श्री कामाक्षी परदेवता ।

श्रीँ बीजं ।

ह्रीँ शक्तिः ।

क्लीँ कीलकं ।

मम मनोवाञ्चा फल सिद्ध्यर्थे श्रीगुरोरनुज्ञाय महामन्त्र जपे विनियोगः ॥

Meaning - This prayer/mantra japa is to invoke Śrī Kāmākṣī in our heart, perform mantra japa to obtain Her complete grace in all aspects, including the four puruṣārthasdharma (following own nature), artha (wealth), kāma (desires) and mokṣa (liberation) and all desires that one may seek from the Divine. The sage who visually saw this mantra (ṛṣiḥ) is Ānandabhairava. The meter (chandas) for the mantra is Jagatī of forty-eight syllables and its variations. The deity is Śrī Kāmākṣī Paradevatā, the seed (bījaṃ) is śrīm̐, the power (śakti) is hrīm̐. The key (kīlaka) that binds the mantra is klīm̐. By the grace and command of our guru and the guru lineage, we pledge to undertake the mantra japa in full earnest.

Run both the palms all over the body.

Open both the palms; run the opened palms of the right hand on the front and back sides of the left palm and repeat the same for the other palm.

5. Ṣaḍāṅga nyāsaḥ (षडाङ्गन्यासः) -

Touch the eyes with the right index and ring fingers, with the middle finger touching the ājña cakra.

klaḥ - astrāya phaṭ ।

क्लः - अस्त्राय फट्

Open up the left palm and strike it three times with index and middle fingers of the right hand.

iti ṣaḍaṅga nyāsaḥ

इति षडङ्ग न्यासः ॥

Thus ends the six-part Ṣaḍāṅga nyāsa.

bhūr-bhuva-ssuvarom-iti digbandhaḥ

भूर्भुवस्सुवरोम् इति दिग्बन्धः

Meaning: May the directions be charmed and bound, to prevent any external obstacles from the powers residing in the triads – the Earth, atmosphere and the heavens.

6. Dhyānam (ध्यानम् ) -

māyādi vyacaśāraṇam tri-jagatām mātāṅghripāda dvayā

mānam dāmṛta vāridāsi jagatāṃ-vidyāṃ-vipad-duḥkhahāṃ

māyāmānuṣa-rūpiṇīm maṇila sanmadhyām mahā-mātṛkam

kāmākṣīṃ gajarāja mandagamanām vande maheśa priyām

मायादि व्यचशारणम् त्रिजगताम् माताङ्घ्रिपाद द्वया ।

मानम् दामृत वारिदासि जगतांविद्यांविपद्दुःखहां ॥

मायामानुषरूपिणीम् मणिल सन्मध्याम् महामातृकम् ।

कामाक्षीं गजराज मन्दगमनाम् वन्दे महेश प्रियाम् ॥

Meaning: Salutations to the Divine Mother Śrī Kāmākṣī (Śakti), consort of Lord Maheśvara (Śiva) who is deeply devolved and widespread in Her manifestation as Mahāmāyā. She is the cause, source and effect of all the triads and is Tripura Sundarī, the enchanter of all the three realms. The entire Creation is propagated by the dust under Her feet and Her feet alone are enough to Create, Sustain, Destroy, Transform and Re-generate the entire Creation. She generates immense happiness and satisfaction and floods the entire Creation with the celestial nectar embedded within the sentient beings, capable of generating immense joy and the experience of the Divine. Meditating upon Her feet dispels all types of miseries, calamities and unhappiness and also provides immense knowledge to gain anything of desire and become completely satisfied. She is the manifested super-consciousness whose very outgrowth is the entire Creation. She is the Divine Mother who is one and the same as the Creation and everything present in it. Let us meditate upon Her seated upon an elephant and making gentle strides around Her temple in Kāñcīpuram and blessing all Her devotees.

There is absolutely nothing that cannot be obtained by Her grace. She grants much more than our wildest of expectations and She is simply unmatched in Her generosity, power and abilities. She is the grantor of self-realization and ultimate liberation as well.

7. Pañcapūjā (पञ्चपूजा) -

Hold the lower tip of the bottom phalange of the middle fingers of both hands with the upper tip of the thumbs.

vam̐ amṛtātmikāyai naivedyam kalpayāmi namaḥ ।

वँ अमृतात्मिकायै नैवेद्यम् कल्पयामि नमः ।

Hold the lower tip of the bottom phalange of the ring fingers of both hands with the upper tip of the thumbs.

sa sarvātmikāyai karpūramiśrita tāmbūlādi sarvopacārān kalpayāmi namaḥ ।

सँ सर्वात्मिकायै कर्पूरमिश्रित ताम्बूलादि सर्वोपचारान् कल्पयामि नमः ।

Hold the fingers of each palm in a folded manner with the tips of the fingers of both hands touching each other and the thumbs facing the heart, in a Namaste position.

8. Mūlamantraḥ (मूलमन्त्रः) -

o śrīm̐ hrīm̐ klīm̐ aim̐ klīm̐ sauḥ hrīm̐ śrīm̐ kāmākṣī kāmadāyinī sakalajana vaśaṅkarī sakal-aiśvarya-prade śrīm̐ hrīm̐ sauḥ klīm̐ aim̐ klīm̐ hrīm̐ śrīm̐ hrīm̐ hum̐ phaṭ svāhā

ॐ श्रीँ ह्रीँ क्लीँ ऐँ क्लीँ सौः ह्रीँ श्रीँ कामाक्षी कामदायिनी सकलजन वशङ्करी सकलैश्वर्यप्रदे श्रीँ ह्रीँ सौः क्लीँ ऐँ क्लीँ ह्रीँ श्रीँ ह्रीँ हुँ फट् स्वाहा ॥

The 46 lettered Śrī Kāmākṣī mantra should be recited at least 108 times. Initiation is required.

Meaning -

This is a forty-six syllabled mantra with some syllables representing bīja (seed) mantras. The parts of the main mantra including the bījas are described below. –

  1. The bīja (seed) mantra “om̐ ()” consists of – ‘au’ => healing and deep cleansing, m̐’ => removes misery. Ushers in auspiciousness.
  2. The bīja (seed) mantra “śrīm̐ (श्रीँ)” consists of – ś’ indicates Mahālakṣmī, repha ‘r’ indicates dhana or wealth, ‘ī’ indicates tuṣṭi or satisfaction, m̐’ denotes nāda indicating parā or śakti and vindu indicates duḥkhahara or removal of all miseries. It is repeated for the fruition of all our desires.
  3. The bīja (seed) mantrahrīm̐ (ह्रीँ) consists of – ‘h’ => Brahman/śiva, ‘r’ => fire and drive within us, ‘ī’ => energy and the source of all power that helps us ascend, ‘m̐ => removal of all miseries and facilitator of self-realization and ultimate liberation.
  4. The bīja (seed) mantra “klīm̐ (क्लीँ) consists of – ‘k’ is for Kāmadeva or Kṛṣṇa, indicating all our wishes, aspirations and desires, ‘l’ for indra indicating victory in all undertakings, ‘ī’ for tuṣṭi, meaning fulfillment and contentment, ‘m̐’ for sukha, meaning enjoyment as well as removal of all miseries and facilitation of self-realization and ultimate liberation. This bīja indicates success in fulfilling all our desires to our contentment.
  5. The Aiśvarya mātṛkā, Viṣṇu māyā and Sarasvatī bīja “aim̐ (ऐँ)”, dispels ignorance and bestows immense knowledge, mastery in arts and amazing creativity.
  6. The combination of the bīja (seed) mantras aim̐ klīm̐ sauḥ (ऐँ क्लीँ सौः)” is the Śrī Bālā Tripura Sundarī mantra that sows the seeds of all the triads. Anything that we wish to manifest, is germinated by the grace of the Divine Mother Śrī Bālā Tripura Sundarī. This mantra alone can manifest the infinity.
  7. The Parā bīja (seed) mantra sau (सौः)” consists of - ‘s’ meaning śakti or power and also dhūmadhvaja, meaning fire and drive, as well as Sarasvatī meaning knowledge - both material and spiritual. The letter ‘au’ => healing and deep cleansing, ‘ḥ’ => grants self-realization and leads to liberation. Overall, this mantra leads us to obtain all types of knowledge that we seek, be it material or spiritual and over a duration of time, it can lead us to self-realization and pave the path towards the ultimate goal of liberation.
  8. The combination of the bīja (seed) mantras hrī śrīm̐ (ह्रीँ श्रीँ)” denotes the combination of the dynamic and static aspects of the super-consciousness as Śakti and Śiva respectively, also called as Śiva- Śaktyaikya-Rūpiṇī.
  9. The word kāmākṣī (कामाक्षी)denotes the Divine Mother Śrī Kāmākṣī Devī, who views the entire Creation that She has manifested with Her loving eyes. Her boundless and unparalleled love and warmth are denoted as Kāmakoṭi.
  10. The word kāmadāyinī (कामदायिनी)denotes fulfillment of all wishes and desires as well as lots of love and happiness. The Divine Mother Śrī Kāmākṣī Lalita Tripura Sundarī is boundless and unmatched in granting Her immense blessings.
  11. The words ”sakalajana vaśaṅkarī (सकलजन वशङ्करी) denote attraction of anything and everything of desire. By extension, the Divine Mother is capable of granting anything that we desire without any inhibitions and conditions.
  12. The word ”sakal-aiśvarya-prade (सकलैश्वर्यप्रदे) denotes all types of wealth, both material and spiritual in unlimited quantities. The Divine Mother never fails in granting immense wealth, prosperity, status, property, fame, education, good health, family, longevity and all types of happiness that we can ever desire for.
  13. The set of bījas ”śrīm̐ hrīm̐ sauḥ klīm̐ aim̐ klīm̐ hrīm̐ śrīm̐ hrīm̐ (श्रीँ ह्रीँ सौः क्लीँ ऐँ क्लीँ ह्रीँ श्रीँ ह्रीँ)” that are the reverse of the same bījas preceding in the mantra, are for sealing the effects of the mantra and of the bījas themselves. This is called “sampuṭīkaraṇa” and employed in certain longer mālā mantras such as this.
  14. The Kavaca bīja (seed) mantra “hum̐ (हुँ)” invokes protection from all harmful entities inimical to us. In the context of this mantra, it is for spiritual and material desires. Hum̐ (हुँ) consists of – ‘h’ => Brahman/śiva, ‘u’ => destruction of all fear and stillness within, ‘m̐’ => remove misery.
  15. The Astra bīja (seed) mantra “phaṭ (फट्)” signifies destruction of all evil and misery.
  16. The Vahnisundarī bīja (seed) mantra “svāhā (स्वाहा)” represents complete submission and surrender to the Divine.

Salutations to the highly revered Divine in the form of Śrī Kāmākṣī Lalita Tripura Sundarī ī to shower Her complete grace upon us and fill us with auspiciousness, all types of wealth, property, prosperity, authority, perfect health, higher education, luck and success in all endeavors.

Recitation of this mantra can lead to the removal of all our miseries and bestows complete happiness and contentment.

12. Samarpaṇam (समर्पणम्) –

siddhirbhavatu me devi tvat prasadān mayī sthirā

गुह्यादि गुह्य गोप्त्रीत्वम् गृहणास्मत् कृतं जपं ।

सिद्धिर्भवतु मे देवि त्वत् प्रसदान् मयी स्थिरा

Meaning: O Lord, you are the most hidden secret of all secrets. May these mantra japa counts performed by me, be offered to you in totality. Our prayers and hope, are that your grace shall remain with us always.
