He is adorned with a precious stone necklace that falls down to His chest (vakṣa sūtraṃ). His consort is seated next to Him on His lap and they’re adorned in golden ornaments. They are seated on a blue lotus (puṣkareṇa).
The modaka denotes the benefits and largesse that He bestows upon His sincere devotees. The broken tusk represents His status as the Eternal Singular Reality. The necklace represents a path to attain His grace, as well as all the letters of the alphabet and the mantras. The elephant goad Aṅkuśa, represents the driving away of stubborn karma that binds us to the worldly existence and the eternal cycle of life and death, cause and effects of the material reality. The noose – pāśa, is for drawing the deluded beings referred to as paśus back to their own true reality and away from the cosmic illusion of māyā, which supplants the ego and an individual identity within us.
